1 Do not let initial reaction and raw emotion dictate your response
2 Today with internet it is so easy to look something up and be say 90 percent certain
3 Speak up but do it in a loving manner
You do that you will be right most of the time and I sometimes do only #1 also it is easy to do but it takes patients and practice
Ohhh.... I can't... I am too mad about it... It almost feels as if my own father had "abused" me. Thanks God I never had an experience like that myself... but as always feel with the "victims" of anything!... (killers, rapes, whatever it maybe), I am with them 100%. If something ugly like that would have happened to me, I think I would be able to actually kill the person who did it to me: priest, father whatever. Yes I know, I am not a fan of "turning the other chick" easily... :) sorry... far from being a saint.
