What a giant crock of BS! I can’t believe the commanding officers of our fine troops have so little faith in their troops that they can’t be trusted to hear a speech by a former governor and VP candidate.
It must be a pretty touchy time on military bases these days if discipline and morale is so low they have to fear the appearance of a single person will disrupt their operation.
Sad, sad.
To: Dacula
understandable....military is suppose to remain nonpolitical.

The Army should stick to winning wars and keeping America safe and knock off all of this PC BS. Sarah Palin is a private citizen, leave her alone.

It’s an Army Post, when in Rome do as the Romans. They have their rules, Sarah has no problems with legitimate rules.
Cant understand why no photo’s though.

Isn’t there some venue right off base that Palin can go to, and only the troops can be admitted to visit her? Somebody has to have a place to host her and the troops....

Then there’s this:
Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum tells WTVD-TV that sales of Palin’s book at the post store have been weak so far.
I don’t suppose it occurred to tom that maybe buyers
were waiting for Sarah?
So the spokesman for the base is a civilian?

I'm in complete agreement with this...The US Armed Forces need to remain assiduously non-political--they need to go above and beyond the call of duty to maintain complete impartiality when it comes to politics. I don't like it when the dumbocrats do it, and I don't think it's appropriate for any Rs to do it either. The book signing is a commercial event anyway.

The Army worried Palin's appearance would prompt political grandstanding against President Barack Obama. In other news, Obama squelches investigation of the Ft. Hood jihadist the army was protecting. Gee, seems like this would be a good time for the army to man up on the side of America, but then what do I know.

Palin will not make a speech, pose for photos, or personalize notes in the books she signs. The first I agree with. The rest is political BS UNLESS that's her usual practice due to the large number of people waiting in line. I've gone to book signings by both Colonel North and Mark Levin and both took time for photos and to personalize a book, especially for us veterans.
