I'm in complete agreement with this...The US Armed Forces need to remain assiduously non-political--they need to go above and beyond the call of duty to maintain complete impartiality when it comes to politics. I don't like it when the dumbocrats do it, and I don't think it's appropriate for any Rs to do it either. The book signing is a commercial event anyway.

I didn’t see anywhere that Sarah ever had plans to make a speech so I suspect this is political spin and another slam at her.

I agree. The military has to, above all things, stay out of the electoral process. A lot of Freepers here want the military to throw Zero out, but it would set a dangerous precedent. What if the military doesn’t like the next President, or the other, or another. We can’t let the military anywhere near Washington.

I don’t believe that Zero would be able to get full cooperation from the US military at all if he wanted them to arrest the citizenry and the non-political stance of the military is our most valuable asset.

yeah, a commercial event at the PX, right? no commerce there. If I was serving there I’d be rightly pissed but one smile from Sarah as she touched my book would more than compensate. That would be a special moment, that would be a leadership moment.
