On Wednesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee met to question Attorney General Eric Holder about his decision to prosecute Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four others in criminal courts rather than military tribunals. As the father of Todd Beamer, who died on United Airlines Flight 93, I was able to attend that hearing. What transpired caused me great concern and shook my confidence in our current administration.
...
How can we be assured that these enemies will be found guilty? Given that criminal courts are now the presumed venue for those captured on the battlefield, will soldiers need to read them their rights at the time of capture? Since you wish to make exceptions on a case-by-case basis to the presumed civil venue, don't all those captured need to be read their rights and have the opportunity to remain silent? Won't this venue expose intelligence to our enemies? Can our classified information really be secured? Can we in fact predict how the judge will rule? If these people are brought into the country will they get additional rights under immigration law? What if they claim asylum?
The attorney general seemed bewildered in the face of these inquiries. Recurring themes in his responses included "I think," and "I can't imagine," and "I am not an expert in immigration."
Has our attorney general not considered these issues, or imagined the possible unintended consequences that will arise from his historic decision? It certainly seemed that way. If he had, he would have had better answers.

I still wonder what will happen when each of these terrorists is acquitted.
Thank you, Mr. Beamer, for your courage and your keen perceptions. You are right on the money. Prayers always for you, your family and the United States of America. We have a war on our hands, on many fronts now.
This was painful to read....and this sideshow in the making must be stopped.
Anarchy. Deservedly so.
No Senator could get a straight answer out of Holder on Wednesday either. He couldn’t say because Obama will leave it to the courts to decide; rule of law, national security be damned.
Ping!
Baffling? try calculated. This is not about anything more than putting the CIA, Bush and his administration on trial for the world to see. Obama’s medal of honor is to expose a tyranical and unjust part of American history to the world and proclaim a new begining and a new America because of him. Don’t be surprised if he suggests a world court with the UN in control. He and this is NOT America.
We must prepare. This cannot go on like this.
Obama is starting to make mistakes. Big mistakes. NYC is where all his left wing darlings in the MSM live and work. If this goes sideways, they will turn on him overnight.
Of course he did. Hussein didn't brief Holder enough to answer those questions.
Bush and Cheney will be blamed. The MSM will take up the Jihadist drumbeat. It’s our fault for merely existing. The only way America can redress the many many wrongs committed over the years is by handing over all its wealth to the rest of the world (esp. Kenya!), via a global poverty tax distributed by the UN. Approx. $2800 per US citizen, this was last year’s estimate. God only knows what the cost would be in another year or two. The UN will take control of the US military, too. They won’t be happy until they’ve sown salt on America’s soil from the Atlantic to the Pacific. America Delenda Est!

What kills me is they were pleading guilty in Cuba it was done. Now Obama wants to bring em here?
Powerful.
Hussein doen’t brief anybody...The Teleprompter does.
This decision is no surprise at all. Many in this administration of hard core, extreme leftists are sympathetic to these terrorists and not at all fond of their own country. Remember, going around the world apologizing and bowing to world leaders is not a sign of standing up for America. You want CHANGE? You got CHANGE.
Good point.
That of course is the real purpose of these trials. Even if we were to accept the bizarre idea that these terrorists were no different than common street crooks, there is no way any court would convict them based on the fact that they were subject to college fraternity hazings while in custody and that most of the evidence against them is classified and thus cannot be shared via the discovery process. Then there's the potential to have an OJ-style jury in such a case.
The end result of course is a swift acquittal. 0bama will immediately blame Bush, saying that "if only Bush hadn't tortured those suspects, they would have been convicted."
Eric Holder, Stedman, is a DUMB BAG of BAD ROCKS. He’s CORRUPT AND STUPID......Dangerous Combo.
