President and Mrs. Bush served our country with honor and dignity and remain committed to improving our nation and the world through the George W. Bush Presidential Center. The Center will be located on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, a rising national university in a major metropolitan city in the heartland of America.
The George W. Bush Presidential Center uniquely integrates the records of a national archive, the thematic exhibits of a presidential museum, and the intellectual capital of a research-based policy institute to advance ideas based on the core principles of the Bush Presidency: freedom, opportunity, responsibility and compassion.
The Center will tell the story of a defining period in our countrys history and serve as a platform from which world‑class scholars conduct serious, independent research aimed at generating practical solutions to important public policy problems.

The design is certainly a great deal more refined and dignified than the one adopted by his predecessor:

Bush's proposed library looks to me like a 1960s prison school with a lookout tower but it's a hell of a lot better than the Clinton one.

What a very traditional structure. Compare that to the trailer trash that is the Clinton library. Thanks for the ping!

Presidential libraries are a gigantic waste of money. Fortunately, it’s private money.
For that matter, libraries themselves are almost obsolete.
Scan the materials, store them and produce a smaller space with computers, Kindles or whatever Apple comes out with.

No computer can replace the feel of a good book with fine pagesd and the smell of ages in it like you would get at a library.
just think of the history crammed in such spaces. no computer no matter how sleek or fast it is can beat that.

Did you see the former First Lady on Greta's show last week? They were at SMU and Lady Laura was being interviewed on the Laura Bush Promenade (I believe it was called). President Bush had donated it to the University as a present for the First Lady. It was a beautiful space with wide sidewalks going down both sides with a median of plants in the middle. People had donated benches in honor or memory of a loved one. One had been donated by Barbara Bush in memory of the little girl they lost so many years ago. It was such a loving and romantic gesture on the part of Pres. Bush.

Did President Reagan build his library in Mexico?
[BTW: You do remember President Reagan don’t you?! — the president who actually campaigned for and signed an amnesty bill . . . “ouch” is right!]

Are Americans going to build the library, or will W have to find some law breakers to do the job Americans won't do?

And your point is? BTW: In typical ‘moonbat’ fashion, you completely ignored my point.
