Some pro-life Catholics reacted with shock to the news that the Vatican warmly greeted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama, who is pro-abortion. They don't seem to understand that the Vatican and Obama agree on most major international issues. This is the untold story-how Obama and the Vatican accept major ingredients of what has been called a New World Order.
Another untold story is how, despite a disagreement over abortion, the U.S. Catholic Bishops and the Obama Administration agree on major aspects of so-called health care reform.
These topics are mostly taboo in the liberal and conservative media. Liberal and conservative Catholics alike would prefer not to discuss how the Catholic Church, here and abroad, functions like a liberal/left-wing political lobby.
But the facts should not be much of a surprise. A majority of Catholics voted for Obama, despite the fact that his pro-abortion record was well known, and when he was honored at Notre Dame, the premier Catholic University in the U.S., only about one-third of U.S. Catholic Bishops publicly objected.
The Nobel Committee's

Sure. But when you subscribe to the centuries-old propaganda from Henrican England about the Catholic Church, you'll automatically become suspect.
Hmm, let’s see opposition to abortion, opposition to same-sex “marriage,” opposition to communism (even to this day with the Venezuelan bishops standing up to Chavez)...shall I continue?
You know, FromLori, I thought I smelled “troll” when you showed up on FR but gave it the old benefit of the doubt. Now I am certain.
Really? I don't recall the world religious figure who sided with the antichrist in the "Left Behind" series being portrayed as the Pope -- or even Catholic, for that matter. IIRC, the robed poseur appointed to head the antichrist's lapdog global religious ecumenical .org was some other pubah randomly elevated to the post. Pls, correct me if my memory doesn't serve me well at this point.
What I remember is that there was a character who was part of the new religion that was to be given the title of "Pontifex Maximus", and that the new religion was headquartered in Vatican City.
Enigma Babylon One World Faith
The "Global Community Faith" is established in the Vatican City after the Global Community was established in New Babylon. This new syncretistic, global religion accepts any religion and faith in the world, claiming equality. The "Global Community Faith" is quickly renamed "Enigma Babylon One World Faith" and Cardinal Peter Mathews is named Pontifex Maximus of Enigma Babylon One World Faith by Nicolae Carpathia.
Fixed.
I will not shy away from admitting that we still have a house to clean with regards to the clergy that came about during the 60s/70s. But they're getting old and will move on. And as with all Christian Churches, the head is the prime target.
Or do you think only clergy who are Catholic are liberal?
Rick Warren is just as Globalist as Ratzinger is.

Hmmm- the beast and the church cozying up- seems like I’ve read somethign about htis somewhere- Heil Obama
I think you have the wrong Freeper.
Yes.
The formula starts with this easy first step: DO NOT LIE.
The Catholic Church is nothing other than a bunch of leftists that don’t even stand up for life. Why is there a Catholic Church anymore?
How disgusting they are.
So it is. Sad, frankly.
I think the authors are dead wrong on that specific point, as well as their overall eschatological paradigm.
Given world events of the recent past, I sincerely doubt it’ll be angry Catholics goose-stepping to the antichrist’s marching band. The books have it that the Carpathia government HQ is the resurgent city of Babylon, but that really stretches the notion of a one-world religion centered out of The Vatican.
Reality seems more likely to be a one-world government AND religion centered out of — oh, I dunno, maybe — Babylon?
Look to the east, I say.
No. You didn't fix it you attempted to suppress it. Catechism my aunt fanny. Catechisms do not address things like "health care" etc.
I despise liars, and in the category of liars I classify those who attempt to suppress the truth. Are you trying to tell me that the ACCB web site is not the official church line on things like wealth redistribution, gun control, etc.
Or do you think only clergy who are Catholic are liberal?
Seems to me that this is thread on the Catholic church, not other denominations. Are you trying to blow pink smoke here too?
You know, I used to puzzle at how the anti-Catholics will use any uninvestigated or shabbily investigated story, any straw man, any ambiguity or any outright lie to attack the Catholic Church with. I don't wonder anymore, I just accept that the Church will always be attacked, and she will always prevail.
Now I hear that the Kings of France "appointed" the Popes and those Popes likewise oppressed the people; I just love it. Normally I hear just the opposite from the Pope haters, that the Kings of Europe were subject to the Popes and did all sorts of evil at the Popes' command. You can't have it both ways, but go right ahead anway, you'll just find out one day how paranoid and ignorant you really are.
And did Pope JPII have a big hand in bringing down the Soviet Empire? Yes! He traveled to Poland and other Soviet satellites and the people came out in massive crowds everywhere he went to hear him speak of human rights and dignity. This emboldened those people to push back against Soviet force, eventually bringing an end to the Soviet Empire. And Pope JPII "oppressed the masses" how?
“Cliff Kincaid has an anti-Catholic fetish.”
I chose to leave the Methodist church because their Council of Bishops has become a council of Communism. Many others have as well. You are very quick to condemn those who criticize the socialist minions in your church. Do you believe they aren’t really socialists? Do you believe they are harmless?
Quite the contrary. I'm very slow to condemn Kincaid, only after observing his attitudes toward the Catholic Church over time.
