CHICAGO — A disturbing video released exclusively to Fox News by the animal rights group Mercy for Animals (MFA) shows a string of alleged abuses at one of the nation's largest pig farms, including footage of employees picking up baby pigs and tossing them like footballs.

("In other news, 1.2 million abortions occured in 2008. And now a word from our sponser, Mr. Clean.")

I agree with you.

I don't have a problem with shooting a deer or wild boar and eating it, nor do I have a problem with eating bacon and steak.

Like you, I don't believe in tormenting an animal or otherwise making it suffer needlessly.

Ok, I watched the video, where was the abuse part. More animal wacko BS from the national human association trying to drum up those bogus donations.

I am a veterinarian. I handle pigs and other animals the best I can. Mistreatment of animals is part of life because everyone doesn’t share the same attitudes. It doesn’t make it right but let the capitalistic system take care of the issue. Sometimes people just screw up. I am sure the little pigs were warm and cuddly and were helpful to the farmers.

The cave man had been squeezing mom’s for a long time before that.

I have raised pigs, cows, chickens and geese - I have killed deer, elk, ducks and fish - and consumed all of them. I have never tormented or needlessly harmed a dumb animal and anyone who does so for entertainment is one sick creep.

Couldn't agree more. Got no problem with cleanly killing animals for food or other uses - but anyone who'd torment an animal for fun has some very weird ideas about what "fun" is.

I totally agree.

Animals can’t have rights and they can’t respect the rights of others. The past 100 years of progressive “animal rights” legislation is a complete farce.

Interestingly, “animal welfarists” have no problems slicing off the balls of cats and dogs, nor do they have a problem with slaughtering cats and dogs.

They just say you can’t do those things because you aren’t “good enough.”

"In other news, 1.2 million abortions occured in 2008."

Sure, a society that allows dismemberment of little baby boys and little baby girls for fun and profit will also produce people who get a kick out of abusing animals.
God made it clear that we were to be good stewards of ALL of His creation, and that of course starts with the most vulnerable among us.

As a pro life conservative Christian, that puts pro life issues above all other issues, I am against cruelty to any animal, pig, cow dog, cat or chicken.

No need to be cruel to any animal. What would Jesus do? Certainly he never abused any animals.

The MSM would have people believe that Conservatives do not respect animals, that is certainly not the case! But unfortunately that is how it`s being reported.

With a headline like this, I was pretty sure I didn't want to see the video.

I didn’t watch the whole video; but I did not see any pigs being “abused”.
I saw pigs being moved by tossing them from one person to another and picked up by the ears.
Neither one will hurt a pig.

I also saw some animal wounds due to the animals being being confined. That is just part of animal agriculture. Not pleasant; but a reality.

Amen! I could not have said it any better myself! Needless cruelty to innocent animals is just sick and wrong, but I see far too much tolerance of it and a tendancy to make light of it here on FR. No, I am not part of the PETA crowd, love to hunt, pro-gun and all of that, but this is not a joking matter and the callousness of so many of you here just turns my stomach. I cannot even imagine the hurt and fear and terror those little guys were going through. I realized that condoning animal cruelty makes you feel like big strong men, but you sicken and horrify me and I can assure you that your God does not take kindly to cruelties perpetrated on his creatures, no matter how insignificant you may see them as being!

Oh that is GREAT logic . . . . lets just use the fact that animals don’t have ‘rights’ as an excuse to abuse and harm them for our pleasure and at our whim! Nice going ace, what a convenient excuse you have found to justify harming innocent creatures for your own twisted self-esteem issues! And don’t even dream of saying that we can’t waste time being kind to animals as long as babies are getting aborted . . . last time I checked we can work on both . . . stopping abortions AND stopping cruelty to animals . . . they are not mutually exclusive!

Exactly, just because Conservatives enjoy hunting, eating animals we are just cruel to animals. Not so. I will love a cow and take good care of it till the day it gets put down and turned into yummy steak!

Maybe if they post a sign, "No Biting Allowed", if will make everyone feel better. Just as soon as Peta tells me how to write in Pig I will make the signs and sell them. Should be a real up and coming business. Maybe I can get some stimulus money for a start up. Just as long as no one squeals on me.
