SNIPPET: “The driver, Munir Muthana, is in jail charged with assault and DWI. Police say he had been drinking before he tried to deliberately run people over with his car.
One victim told us today she couldn’t sleep last night. She can still see the driver’s face as he was driving towards her. She says she panicked and got out of her car but that put her right in the cross hairs.
“He was coming towards me he was going to hit me. Then I looked and I seen the car and I ran behind the car and he looked the same way I looked and he just hit the car and just put the car right over me, I was like up under the car.” Deborah Hollis was pinned under the car in the parking lot of the Sunoco station on South Plymouth Avenue. She said she thought the driver was going to go after her again, so she ran inside the store.”
SNIPPET: “Late this morning, News 10NBC found out why Muthana may have lost it. According to the police reports, he got a prostitute Thursday afternoon. It was a person he thought was a woman but who was really a man and people started making fun of him. That’s when he got in his car and the whole thing started.”

I don't yet if he's a jihadist from what I read IbJensen.
What I do know from online articles is that he deliberately plowed into people and police cars, made some interesting comments and had been drinking.
The question is, Was he drinking to get the courage up to do his deeds or was he drunk and had poor judgment?

Munir M. Muthana, 27, of Rochester was charged with five counts of second-degree assault, a felony, and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and reckless driving, both misdemeanors. He pleaded not guilty in City Court this morning.
Muthana is accused of intentionally droving into several pedestrians in the parking lot area of the Sunoco gas station at 700 S. Plymouth Ave. striking a bicyclist, two pedestrians and then ramming his vehicle into a parked car, which in turn hit another pedestrian and pushing her under the parked car, according court documents.
Then Muthana allegedly fled from police officers who were trying to stop him and led them on a chase throughout the southwest part of the city. The chase ended when the vehicle Muthana was allegedly driving rammed into a civilian’s vehicle on near the intersection of Brooks Avenue and Genesee Street before coming to stop and taken into custody by police.
He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for some minor injuries. The six other people who were injured by his vehicle were also taken to Strong to be treated for minor injuries. Police believe all victims were random bystanders and not targets or acquaintances of the man driving the vehicle.
According to court documents, Muthana had drank six cans of Budweiser beer within the hour leading up to his erratic driving. When he was questioned by police at Strong Memorial Hospital, Muthana allegedly kept yelling profanities at the police officer who was interviewing him.
Muthana is due back in court Monday.
