What Should I Do Because of Obamacare? (Vanity)
Posted on 11/08/2009 1:56:41 PM PST by Debacled
Folks, I'm really worried about the House's passage of the Obamacare bill last night. I'm mostly concerned about the fines/jail time for not purchasing an insurance plan.
Currently, I've been without health insurance for over 2 years. I could have bought into a plan, but because the plan's price and my low income (despite my professional job), I decided against getting health insurance. I'm young and in relatively good health. I take prescription meds, but I can purchase them cheaply through Walmart.
My question to the FR community is this: since I don't want to pay fines or go to jail for a misdemeanor (e.g., not buying health insurance) , where should I move to? I was thinking Mexico, Israel, or the motherland Ireland. Atleast in those places, you are not forced to purchase health insurance. Any other suggestions? Am I blowing things out of proportion? Thanks for your input!

Refuse to pay the fine. Resist arrest with deadly force. You won’t be alone. Neither will I.

Well, we knew this was coming last November. In fact, some conservatives here wanted it to happen, their Obi Wan Kenobi strategy, Sit tight for a while.

“Change” the tide in 2010 and “hope” for others to join you. This can be overturned.

Amen. Personally, I plan to send back any bill for fees resulting from this abomination with a succinct "Fu__ Off", consequences be damned.
Americans have forgotten the value of "Fu__ Off". We need to find our voice again.

When in doubt ride it out. It won't get past the Senate.
It can't.

Still got a long way to go before they’re kicking down your door.

Prepare to take back what is ours.

Heck, I’ve been without health insurance for over 10 years and I’ll be damned if the government is going to force me to sign on to their ill-fated Commie agenda.
But, more importantly, it’s unconstitutional; so, just ignore it. If the Feds ever come after you, there’s over a thousand lawyers ready to jump at the chance to take your case to the United States Supreme Court.
Cheers

Remember, the Dims will be coming for the guns themselves pretty soon. They are planning to try and ban most firearms before next March.

There were many years when I was younger, even when I was married, I did not have health insurance. Most of the time I could pay out of the pocket, or the clinic had a payment plan. I’m praying (and doing my part) to pressure my senators to not let this pass, but between Franken and Klobuchar... I haven’t a chance in hell...

You guys are really the best. Thanks for your support, the passage of this monstrosity has really depressed me since last night.

Then you guys need to learn to live without a bank account or a job, cause the IRS will forcibly remove money from your bank account to pay for your health care. If you don't have a bank account, they will take it up front from your pay check, just like SS or Medicaid.
You have no choice.

You can sell a kidney and then you will be able to pay the health insurance so they don't put you in jail. At least for a while.

"You have no choice."
Actually, I do have a choice and I will exercise it when and if the time comes.
