The lightly-built police heroine who is credited with halting the Fort Hood massacre almost died at the scene after losing half the blood in her body.
Mother of one Sergeant Kimberley Munley confronted gunman Nidal Malik Hasan and, despite being wounded in both legs, brought him down with four shots.
One of the shots cut an artery in her leg, leaving blood pumping out but she still managed to keep firing before collapsing.
Heroine: Kim Munley, a civilian police officer, is the woman who brought Hasan down by shooting him four times before he could slaughter more people.
Medic Francisco Delaserna applied a tourniquet to Sgt Munley as she drifted in and out of consciousness because of blood loss.
'I cut her trousers oopen, tied a tourniquet around her thigh and stopped the bleeding. But she had already lost a lot of blood,' he said.

Why does the MSM always do this to us?? This is the first I'm hearing about Sgt Mike Todd. :( I know why they do it, but why??
Thanks...is that in Virgina or Texas?
He may have realized he missed, and said so to investigators at some point after the initial reports went out. I’d certainly like to think that a police officer serving in this capacity would be aware of whether or not he’d actually hit a human target he’d shot at. He may not have done much of the shooting — it sounds like these two were the only armed people on the scene before Hasan was down, and he may have been spending some time on a phone/radio calling for back-up if Munley was in a better position to shoot at Hasan.
You know what’s scary about that mosque photo? It looks so pre-fab. Like they have them lined up on the dock ready to plunk one down wherever no one is looking...
It looks as ‘cookie-cutter’ as a McDonald’s! *SHIVER*
Wake up, Sheeple. The enemy is within the gate. Well within the gate!!
“The ‘women dont belong in combat’ crowd has been rather quiet for the past couple of days...”
They sure as sh!t have, LOL! I get razzed here at least once every few weeks on the subject.
My Dad gave me a big old hug and a kiss on the head when I saw him tonight. He said all he could think about for the past few days was that something like that could’ve happened to me while I was serving and he wasn’t around to protect me. (He’s just slightly in that ‘women shouldn’t serve’ crowd but he’s a Vet too, so he knows the deal.) ;)
I recall the story of the .45 pinwheel as the 1911 was hung through the trigger guard on the hook of a toilet stall...and proceeded to discharge until the magazine was empty.
eh? You can longer say that to police force in CA and Illinois.
You better run away when you see some of them coming. Many of them are also thugs, just wearing uniform.
Kim Munley and Chesley Sully Sullenberg should be named Time Magazines Heroes of the Year!
..................
They won’t. Munley and Sullenberg are not communists ‘yet’, right?
As much as I disagree with you about women serving in the military in any capacity they are qualified to hold, (been there, done that for 20 years) I DO agree with you on this statement of yours:
“Real men should be protecting women, not putting them in positions of danger.”
I miss Real Men. Truly, I do.
But, just because we keep our gonads tucked inside doesn’t mean we’re not fit to serve. ;)
I’ve been out of touch with all news for a week and am just now hearing of this. Did Zero make a statement about this event? What did he say?
Women don’t belong in combat. She is a police officer and did her job well but combat is not the same!
You ain’t going to believe it, but he gave a SHOUT-OUT to a friend in the audience. It was not until 2 1/2 minutes into the speech that he mentioned the attack.
Oh BTW, he mistakenly identified his friend as winning the CMH.
This lady is IMHO, in the line of a long tradition of women being honored, going back to the days of the Bible and Jewish/Christian tradition. For this she is a 21st century Eshter.
This doesnt really count as “Combat” since she wasnt in danger of being captured, tortured, raped and other not nice things. This was a intense but short engagement.
But she is biggest hero we have seen from Law Enforcement since 9-11 or those heros from the Pittsburgh PD who were gunned down by a jerk-off.
She earned a place in heaven. May she live and happy life.
I think Port-a johns should be renamed” Port-a-allahs” since the islamic religion is so full of crap anyways.
My understanding is that both officers fired. Munley had her weapon drawn but was in lead with Todd in trail, and Hasan met her coming around a corner while chasing down a retreating soldier who already had been wounded.
We don’t know yet whose shots hit where yet, but Todd seems to think that she got the most on target, from the way he spoke about it.
Honey on shooter. Fire ant mound. Several stakes. Ropes. Tie suspect on mound. Find a swarm of Africanized honey bees and release.
After losing half her blood, shouldn’t she be dead?
