The U.S. Army's top general expressed concern on Sunday that last week's mass shooting at Fort Hood in Texas, blamed on a Muslim Army officer, could fuel a backlash in the military against Muslim troops.
General George Casey, U.S. Army chief of staff, cautioned against jumping to conclusions about whether religious beliefs motivated the accused gunman, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim born in the United States of immigrant parents.

"I'm concerned that this increased speculation could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers. And I've asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that," Casey told CNN's "State of the Union."
There are about 3,000 Muslims on active duty military service or in the National Guard or reserve forces, Casey said. They remain a small minority within the U.S. military.
A Fort Hood official has said Hasan yelled "Allahu Akbar" -- Arabic for "God is Greatest" -- just before the shooting in which 13 people were killed and 30 wounded. The 39-year-old U.S. Army psychiatrist was shot four times by police. He was hospitalized but no longer needed a ventilator to breathe.

Only West Coast Japanese were relocated. I knew someone who as a 12 year old boy was sent to live with his grown sister in Chicago. His parents went to the internment camps.
And if there is a crime committed then I don't have a problem with prosecuting. But the crime that you've tried and convicted them of is not domestic terrorism but the crime of being Muslim. You would have them interned, banned from the military, and God knows what else on those grounds alone. That was wrong in 1942 and it's wrong today.
If all Muslims are our enemy then what are we doing in Iraq and Afghanistan?
LOL...NS, you calling folks liberal is hilarious.
We are under attack from Islam and you are worried about offending folks...as usual.
btw, he ain’t the only Muslim to attack within the US military.
You seem to be intent on diving into the shallow end of the pool today. The results of your belief that the Muslim population is safe to roam our streets are likely to be the same as your diving into the wrong end of the pool. You are going to end up with your neck broke.
The term “domestic terrorism” means activities that - (A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended - (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.
When the Muslims get together and preach killing infidels they are in fact entering into a conspiracy to commit terrorism. On that basis alone there is enough evidence to pack them all off to the internment camps for the duration of this war against Islam.
I'm glad you asked: I have no idea.
Pretending to fight, under criminal Rules of Engagement, and losing hundreds of our youngest and finest in the process.
We may agree on something here. Leave and nuke those places.
Define crime.
You are drifting from the esoteric to the ridiculous.
The remainder of that post is a non-sequitur, if you'll pardon the obvious.
No, that's your solution.
I would simply remove them from positions where they can repeat the massacre. That's not "conviction," that's called cultural and national survival.
You had better believe that the military chiefs have all been briefed by the White House on what to say and do in the aftermath of this tragedy.
Casey is only parroting the White House line coming from the Muslim in the White House.
Hey Mark,
Good to see you too..
I am so sad for our country...
don’t get caught up in the propaganda — or a tombstone - there are different reasons why people join the military...I investigated many who were in there that belonged to gangs and were there for no other reason but for training...just because that one in the photo died - doesn’t mean he died for the Republic...there’s a difference...I have personally seen it...
People like you that post this crap and try to divert a very specific issue to some generalization that all US soldiers that die - die for the US - really boil my blood. Oaths can be taken by anyone - but not all who take the oath adhere to it!
No, General Casey, I won't "jump to conclusions." It seems obvious by now, after many incidents.
Please pardon my bigotry, for if a Christian would have done this...
The "conclusions about whether religious beliefs motivated the accused gunman,"
Would be a resounding, "YES!" scrolled all over the newspapers and broadcast media the next day.
Maybe a little of topic, but no matter what religion, ethnic background, gender, age, etc., we in this great country do not hang enough traitors.

And you knee-jerk reaction is to paint everyone who looks like him with the same brush. I'm sure it makes you feel better. I've no doubt that it will stand you in good stead with your peers. But it is an idiotic response.
And what other parts of the Constitution would you like to rip up while you're about it?
Fight for what?
An action that is against the law. Shooting up an army base definitely qualifies as a crime. Being Muslim does not.
You are drifting from the esoteric to the ridiculous.
Ridiculous is assuming that because someone shoots up a school, then all gun owners are evil. Ridiculous is assuming that because one nut shoots an abortionist, then everyone in the pro-life movement should be kept under close police supervision. Ridiculous is taking one person's actions and assuming a whole group is about to do the same thing. You're the one who jumped head-long into ridiculous long ago.
You've convicted them. You're convinced that because one did it then all of them are about to do it. And all should be punished for the actions of one.
That's not "conviction," that's called cultural and national survival.
That's called idiocy of the first order. So if Obama and his minions decide tomorrow that people like you who are calling for the wholesale roundup of Muslims are yourself dangers to society, and that to protect the innocent Muslim population from your ire then you should be rounded up and interned, would you understand? Other than the fact that you would be on the receiving end of the internment, how can you argue with the logic behind it?
So...because some Blacks or Latinos joined the military just to get training that they can take back to their gangs then should all Blacks and Latinos be banned from the military just to be safe? Should all be interned and watched? Questioned and investigated, each and every one?
People like you that post this crap and try to divert a very specific issue to some generalization...
ROTFLMAO!!!!! You and your buddies want to treat every Muslim as a criminal because of the actions of one kook and I'm the one making generalizations??????
Your chip on your shoulder about any slight to any minority which extends now apparently beyond blacks but also to muslims is part of a larger problem in this country in particular and the West in general.
It fosters an environment whereby we are unable to confront a clear and present danger in our midst...one that has demonstrated time and again it’s hostlity to our way of life and the will to act on it.
Yet you resort to name calling with the bigot card anyone who fails to adhere to your self destructive high mindedness.
It’s comforting to know your hostility to western civilization extends beyond just a hatred of white southerners and our heritage.
I think that Islam is by and large incompatible with democratic government and allowing them a foothold here or in the military is foolishness. We may need cooperation with them around the world but we don’t need them here in anything beyond tiny numbers but you can take comfort in the fact that Obama is working to the opposite of that and bring more in.
If Hitler had been as clever as Mohammed, then he would have proclaimed Nazism to be a religion.
Then PC-uber-alles dolts would demand that Nazi SS “priests” should be allowed to join the US Army, even as they preached the slaughter of non-Nazis.
And when these Nazi SS “priests” massacred Americans, these PC dolts would worry more about a potential backlash against “moderate Nazis” than the safety of Americans.
PC Kills.
