Fort Hood shooting: Nidal Malik Hasan 'was not a terrorist' Palestinian cousin says
The Daily Telegraph ^ | 06 Nov 2009 | Adrian Blomfield

Maj Nidal Malik Hasan, who killed 13 people at a Texas military base, had become increasingly devoted to Islam following the death of his parents but was no terrorist, his cousins in the West Bank said on Friday. Speaking from their home in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Hasan's relatives painted a picture of a man cornered into an act of "lunacy" by the repeated discrimination of his peers and an attempt by the army to force him to serve in Afghanistan.

"They discriminated against him because he was a Muslim," Mohammed Mohammed, one of Hasan's cousins, told the Daily Telegraph. "We're not trying to make excuses for him but what we were told was that he was under a lot of pressure.

...

According to his cousins, Hasan was badly scarred by the deaths of his parents in 1998 and 2001. Along with his two brothers, he became increasingly devout, they said.

"They became very religious after their mother died," Mohammed Hasan said. "They were very observant. They prayed a lot."

Yet the two cousins insisted that the major's religion was not tinged with political fanaticism, although they said he had become increasingly withdrawn and uncommunicative in recent years.

It may not be Al-Qaeda related but it certainly is Islam related and America had better expect more of these ‘non-terrost’ killings from American muslims.

What I'm getting at is this looks to me more like a guy who went postal than someone who would join Al Qaeda to go on jihad. Becoming a radical Muslim was his way of detaching from his coworkers and dehmanizing them so in his mind he could justify killing, something every mass killer in the workplace goes through in some form.

Obviously the spin talking points have been issued to the MSN by Axelrod from the heady precincts of the White House.
We need to change the language. I laugh about all the descriptions of this incident.
Words are used like shootings , killings , ( couched in terms as if the victims could shoot back.)

This happened at a med facility where there was a long cue for flu shots and other medical processing. The perpetrator calmly got to his feet , reached into his jacket, drew his 5.7 mm FN pistol and calmly started walking down the rows of people , pointing his weapon and shooting them calmly, point blank, in cold blood.

This was not “shootings” This was not “killings.” This was genocidal execution. These human beings were dispatched as if they were animals. One woman was 6 months pregnant.

TIME TO TELL THE TRUTH. GENOCIDAL EXECUTION is what this was.

The same sort that happened in Kenya , courtesy of Obama’s tinkering there, in 2007.

OBAMA’S FAULT!!!!!!!

THIS WAS AN ACT OF RELIGIOUS GENOCIDE.

THIS WAS A WAR CRIME.

“They explained that Hasan was under a lot of stress, and felt isolated at Ft. Hood....”

.
Then he should’ve shot muslims to relieve his stressful situation. I wonder what the MSM would’ve said if a honky would’ve used muslims for target practice. Now if that honky would’ve been a Christian, then all hell would’ve broken loose and Fort Hood would’ve been renamed ‘Fort Jihadi Martyrs”.

What I'm getting at is this looks to me more like a guy who went postal than someone who would join Al Qaeda to go on jihad.

Someone who joins Al Qaeda to go on jihad is doing the very thing this guy was doing. He was just (apparently at this time) a solo entrepreneur but following the same business plan for the same reasons. He was probably even more motivated than some of Al Qaeda who may be pressured by family and friends and Al Qaeda itself and for monetary reasons or to avoid threats against family members.

As for being effing nuts, well, that pretty much goes without saying. But there's that kind of insanity, which still has moral culpability, and other types like paranoid schizophrenia in the throes of which one may have lessened or no moral responsibility for one's actions. I don't think he's in the latter category. Though being a shrink, he was probably more than half way there, especially since he was pressing Islam on his patients.

Along with his two brothers, he became increasingly devout, they said.

His brothers bear watching.

Actually, based on what we know so far, I would not classify him as a terrorist, in the sense of being a jihadi linked to others.

A soldier is a soldier, whether he's operating alone (eg, sniper) or operating as part of a platoon or company.

A jihadist sees himself as a soldier of Islam. His objective is to strike fear into the hearts of any who would oppose the domination of Islam.

See The Quranic Concept of War, an article from the journal of the US Army War College.

both the FBI and Homeland Security Department announce that the attack was not terrorists related.

Several decades ago, the FBI announced rather quickly that it was a lone assassin, there was no conspiracy. Of course anyone with an IQ even approaching room temperature knows that the BIG LIE that was told then is still alive and well today.

The government learned that all they have to do is repeat the lie often enough and YOU (the public) will back down and quit thinking. He was NOT a terrorist, are you a CONSPIRACY NUT or something?

“So what is a terrorist (by West Bank standards)?”

An American or Isreali soldier.
