We still dont know what was behind the killings at Ft. Hood this afternoon, in which 11 soldiers and the killer died, but President Obamas rushed press conference was surprising in its flippancy nonetheless. Before he got to the issue on everyones mind namely the deaths of Americans in uniform the president gave a shout-out to government bureaucrats gathered for a previously scheduled conference at the Interior Department, complete with appreciative chuckles. He treated the event like a pep rally rather than a tragic occasion with a wider audience than those gathered in the room. I wonder how many media outlets will compare Obamas performance to President Bushs Pet Goat moment on 9/11. I wont hold my breath.
He was 2 minutes into the tape before he said a word about the shootings.
What is a: "shout out?"
Visitor.
I’m changing my tagline for today...
Not that the press would tell much about the rally at Capitol hill, but this horrible incident at Fort HOod takes the little coverage of the rally off the news. This makes Pres. happy i think.
Bingo!
0bama is neither happy or sad. He’s just present and totally unqualified to be President. He does not have a clue and when push comes to shove he will stand with his MUSLIM BROTHERS.
As long as we’re straightening things out, the name of the award is the Medal of Honor, not the Congressional Medal of Honor.
I’d hate to see the likes of Nancy Lugosi or the other demtards associated with the Medal in any way.
that is because Bozo has no classs, whatsoever.
Sociopaths can seldom get on the same wavelenght as the rest of humankind.
What is a shout out? In 0bama’s case it is his 100% lack of experience, class, dignity, and respect for the office of the POS. It’s something you would expect from Kanye West who as 0bama said is “an ass.”
I don’t disagree that he’s an empty suit and unqualified for the position. But, as I said, I can’t imagine him being happy about this. Despite his speech happening several hours after the fact, I didn’t see a teleprompter nearby so it seemed as if he was speaking on his own. That’s why he sounded so incompetent. He’s a great reader, with good writers, but a lousy speaker on his own. Which goes back to my first line.
Thank you so much for post #33. That was what first came to my mind when I read about the “shout out”. When I saw the actual footage - watching 3 times to make sure I wasn’t mistaken - words failed me...except for the “WTF?!!” and a string of filth I didn’t know I was capable of.
Obama certainly revealed his priorities in those first few minutes praising the local pols and conference organizers etc.
This was his “Katrina” moment.
His first priority should be to the victims and their families, and those locked down at Fort Hood. He coudn’t even praise the police officer who laid down his life to stop the killer.
President Bush’s first priority on hearing about 9/11 attack was NOT TO SCARE THE CHILDREN!!!
Our First Commander in Chief must be rolling in his grave!!
Learning now that he had known for over an hour and a half. Made no mention. Continued on with his routine.
Waited till 5pm so as not to interfere with his new best friends, the indians????????????
.
So what are you saying as long as he is reading other people’s lines he is an acceptable President and we should just give him a pass because he is just a puppet?
Am I the only one that sees a possible “wag the dog” scenario here... one that would distract AWAY from the thousands (40,000?) of anti-government-run-healthcare protestors in DC today? Or am I just remembering the Clintonista years unfondly.
Mao knew for well over an hour and a half.
And yes, the msm is omitting the shout out portion of his comments.
Do you believe they would have protected a republican in the same manner.
