After pumping more than $1 million into an upstate New York House race to elect the Conservative Partys Doug Hoffman, the Club for Growth is on the hunt again.
Chris Chocola, president of the conservative political action committee, made it clear the PAC is looking for more GOP targets who dont embrace the Clubs limited-government approach.
Priority No. 1 is likely to be the Senate contest in Florida, where Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, who embraced President Barack Obamas stimulus package, is being challenged by former State House Speaker Marco Rubio.
. . . . .
Beyond Florida, other establishment Republicans may be looking over their shoulders. Chocola, a former House Republican from Indiana, noted that he served with Rep. Mark Kirk (R., Ill.) and former Rep. Rob Simmons (R., Conn.), both running for the Senate.
Theyre both good guys, but they dont fit the bill as Club for Growth candidates, he said.
. . . . .
The best Kirk and Simmons can expect is that we leave them alone, Chocola said.

I hope they succeed. Mark Kirk is presenting himself as a “strong fiscal conservative” yet he voted for Cap and Tax.
Compared to Roland Burris, he’d be great but we deserve better.
Charlie’s next. Were coming for you Charlie.
I composed a ScoreCard for the voting record of members of Congress. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2341921/posts
And am now doing the same for the Senate. Have the framework composed, except I need some guidance on the bills in the Senate that are revealing about the true loyalties of the members.
Any suggestions for the Senate Bills?
I like that picture.
Though I must say rhinos are far nobler creatures than RINOs.
Kind of reminds me of that John Edwards fella.
I thought the Club for Growth helped conservatives. They must have changed that rule, this year.
Good. Would that more PACs were doing this.
Please disregard my post #8. When I read that the Club for Growth is hunting for moderates, I thought that they want to support moderates. I read all of the article and learned that they want to oppose moderates.
Club for Growth doing what it does best — helping Democrats getting elected.
