Dems Admit Paying For Daggett Robocalls In NJ (Daggett lies)
AmericanThinker.com ^ | Rick Moran

New Jersey Democrats have admitted that a series of robocalls on behalf of third party candidate for governor Chris Daggett were paid for by the Democratic State Committee - final proof that Daggett has been a spoiler for Republican Chris Christie all along.

Matt Friedman of Politiker New Jersey writes:

A Democratic spokeswoman says the party's chairman, Joe Cryan, was not aware of the robocalls when he denied that the state committee had anything to do with them yesterday afternoon. Cryan, who told PolitickerNJ.com yesterday afternoon that the Democratic State Committee had "absolutely" nothing to do with the call, could not immediately be reached for comment.

The call angered Republicans and further fueled conspiracy theories that Daggett is in cahoots with the Corzine camp. A disclaimer at the end says it was paid for by Victory '09, "a project of the NJDSC" (Democratic State Committee), and gave the committee's Trenton address.

Daggett, for his part, disavowed the call.

"Voters hate robocalls. This is just another instance of the dishonest ways Democrats and Republicans use to win campaigns and to fool voters," he said in a statement this afternoon. "It is little wonder more and more voters are rejecting these kind of desperate dirty tricks and turning to my campaign for a positive message about how to make New Jersey more affordable and competitive.''

Before the Democrats owned up to it, Daggett media advisor Bill Hillsman said the call might be a Republican trick to generate a sympathetic newspaper story.

Methinks Mr. Daggett doth protest too much. As a third party candidate, all he cares about is getting his name known by as many people as possible. To him, it doesn't matter...

We are talking about New Jersey. Think Chicago. Then remove all the charm. Then make it twice as bad. You’re approaching the truth.

New Jersey is a perfectly awful place.

Know exactly how the State Executive Committees work and they are headed by the State Chair so his saying he didn’t know is rubbish!

Ok, I’m confused. Wouldn’t this take away support from Corzine?

why do I have a feeling that the Dems have been putting people in to run as R’s like up in NY.

That way they have a Dem candidate and an R , thus on election day they win either way thus fooling the average voters.

The GOP needs to be purged and the Dems need to be taken to outed on their undermining constitutional tactics

No, from Cristie. Corzine's ceiling is about 45 %. Period.

The deal is..people vote for Dogget, then Corzine gets him a job in government when its all over.

Yes.

This is why people are running away from New Jersey by the hundreds of thousands.

Hopefully Corzine will lose, but I really can't hold my breath when I keep SEIU/ACORN's criminal activities in mind.

Corzine can’t win by himself so he has to fund a third party candidate who just happens to be a guy who worked with Corzine in the recent past. Dump Corzine. Vote Christie!

Isn't this a violation of FEC laws? Don't you have to indentify funding? Denial of funding would be a lie and dishonest politicking. Then again, the FEC is a joke.

LOL. I know. I had to go to Newark (in the winter, no less) for business years ago and wanted to freak'n kill myself. It was like bad film noir with people (alone) drinking at bars at 10:00 am, ugly industrial areas and dirty snow everywhere. The color grey permeated the entire landscape as well - everything looked grey, including the people.

No, Daggett was being pushed as an “alternative” to Corzine that wasn’t one of those evil Republicans.

So if you were a Democrat and wanted Corzine gone, you would have likely held your nose and voted for Christie. But now you could vote for Daggett instead and not have to sully yourself by voting for a Republican.

It split the “anti-Corzine” vote.

Be glad it was winter. The cold weather actually does more to prevent crime in places like Newark than their own corrupt police force.

Not to mention the smells. I’ll always remember riding on a bus from Ft. Monmouth to NYC to catch a plane home for the weekend and the ride through Orange was just awful.

“confused “
No this would take votes away from the one who is most unpopular namely Corzine, not the favorite. This too often is the role a 3rd party candidate plays in a close race and as we see here its the role of a shill.

Daggett worked for the EPA and may have been promised a top slot in Obama’s EPA for participating in a Rham Emanuel operation.
