Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says the committee is endorsing the conservative in New Yorks 23rd Congressional District race after Republican Assemblywoman Dierdre Scozzafava suspended her campaign and released her supporters.
Calling Scozzafavas move a selfless act, Steele says the RNCs change of course is effective immediately and will include financial backing and get out the vote efforts for Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman.

Better late than never, I guess.
“Gee, thanks a bunch, RNC!” I’m sure the RNC’s involvement will be a real difference maker with just hours left before the election. Way to jump on the bandwagon.
Not really. Hoffman is better off w/o that baggage.
Dumbasses.
Mighty big of you Mr. Steele...now can you get back the $1M or so of the money we ENTRUSTED to you to spend wisely, and use it in New Jersey and on next year’s races.
Well, the GOTV couldn’t hurt.
And Newt endorsed Hoffman via twitter. Via. Frickin. Twitter. Wuss.
They are slow learners!
Who knew the GOP had a dog in this fight. If the GOP-RNC can’t run with the big dogs, they better stay on the porch, and stay the heck out of the way. There is work to be done in this country.
Ping. Please Freepmail me if you want off my ping list.
I have been communicating with the Scozzafava campaign via email for about 10 days, trying to convince them to ask Dede Scozzafava to drop out of the race. At first I didn’t want to throw the weight of our group behind Hoffman. We’re already heavily committed in New Jersey and our donors had given a lot this month to the Christie campaign.
I promised Matt Burns, Scozzafava’s communications director that if Dede withdrew of the race immediately and endorsed Doug Hoffman, she would have our support for a statewide position next year. I mentioned the NY state comptroller’s office, which is a logical next step in her career. There is no other Republican who has declared an interest in the position.
Yesterday, I sent Matt another email and said, “This is Dede’s last chance.” She has done the honorable thing for the good of the party.
This is how it should always read.

Thanks for the ping!
By the way, in that last email I pointed out to Matt all that has happened in the campaign over the last ten days, and mentioned that on October 22, after I saw that Dede wasn’t going to drop out of the race immediately, I put out the call to my friends.
The response was heartwarming. My friends have gone “above and beyond the call of duty.” After giving generously to the Christie campaign, they gave again to the Doug Hoffman campaign. Calls were made and Hoffman endorsements started piling on. We can’t take all of the credit, or even half of the credit for Doug’s enormous growth in the past 12 days. But we were a big factor.
Thanks, everybody.
Thanks for the links!
My problem is with how things work. I do not support a boss when they do something stupid. I support them when they have the best interest of the company. I hate playing politics and have left jobs because of it.
