Lis Wiehl's false statements on the "O'Reilly Factor" regarding Obama's birth documentation...

Posted on 10/28/2009 7:02:56 AM PDT by MelSmith

On last night's O'Reilly Factor (Oct 27, 2009), Bill O'Reilly sat stupidly while Lis Wiehl made several conspicuously false statements regarding the facts related to Obama's birth documentation. Referring to the "birthers", Ms. Wiehl stated that "It's this whole movement that says that Obama was elected from a bad, unconstitutional point of view because he was not born in the United States. That's been litigated. Congress investigated. His birth document from Hawaii was shown."

First, regarding "That's been litigated" this case has never actually been heard in open court (because the plaintiffs have been denied standing).

Second, regarding "Congress investigated." Does anyone know to what she is referring? Or as that a total fabrication? Does she really think that Barney Frank and Harry Reid have "investigated" this?

Third, regarding "His birth document from Hawaii was shown", Ms. Wiehl fails to mention that what has been shown is purported to be a bona fide copy of Mr. Obama's birth documentation. Furthermore, the validity of that copy is disputed for a number of reasons. (And they never mention the fact that Hawaii issues two types of birth documentation, and that there is an interesting dispute as to which type of birth documentation Mr. Obama has.)

Fox News continues to ridicule people who believe that Mr. Obama's birth records -- that are actually on file in Hawaii -- should be made available to independent document experts for inspection and validation.

My question: are they afraid of this story, or do they simply not understand it at all? I do not believe that Fox is part of a conspiracy or a deliberate cover up. Stupid? Yes. Nefarious? No.

“The Spin (NEVER) Stops Here” B.O.R. likes watching them spin. He has resolved NOTHING on the issue...just lets the spin continue. Thank for posting, MelSmith.

Mel, Please send your analysis to BOR and to LW and ask for an answer. The particulars you list cry out for an investigation, not necessarily of the birth records, but of how BOR and LW established what they are calling facts.

BOR claims he bases his opinions on facts. He claims his people are the best at investigating and establishing facts. I think he will respond to a challenge with regard to how the "facts" were established.

BTW, I wouldn't call anyone a liar, it tends to put people off.

If Obama continues to screw up, I think that’s going to change. In a big way. And it will not be good for Obama or the country. There is a reason why a democracy is supposed to be transparent.

Write her? Based on many comments above, Ms. Wiehl is married to the left and would be uninterested in an objective exploration of this subject.

Liz is a female Geraldo. They need to be rid of both of them.

Throw in BOR and we could wager a trifecta.

I beg to differ my friend. Rudov is fighting for absolute undeniable injustices done to men that no one wants to talk about. Mainly legal issues regarding the huge advantage women have in divorce court, the hypocracies, and also something very important that never gets discussed in the MSM: the fact that men have no reproductive rights anymore. GONE my friend. Women decides whether baby lives or dies. I will NEVER marry in the USA.

I did send an e-mail to O'Reilly last night. I expect it to be ignored. Don't you?

I'm hoping others will write him as well, then it would be harder for him to ignore.

I can’t wait until Rev. Manning weighs in on that!

BTW, there was an “intelligence” report on the Hawaiian birth registry laws and practices and consequent loopholes posted here yesterday that made B.O.’s little segment sound dumb as dirt.

Thats true. Its not going to come to a head I don’t think until a case hits SCOTUS. Once that happens... all bets are off. There are several that are headed that way. Once that happens, at first everyone is going to poopoo that, and expect SCOTUS to throw it out. Until Justice Roberts makes it clear that the court takes it seriously, and is hearing it.

We will know how serious when we find out when they are going to hear it. If it is set far back in the docket, that says one thing, if it gets heard immeadiately, that says something else entirely.

I hate the waiting game... but that’s what it is. Unless something breaks out of Hawaii.... and thats possible too.

The “Big Leprechaun,” as Rev. Manning calls him, seems to be laboring under the fantasy that Huseein will grant him another interview, something that he is so, so proud to have done during the campaign.

After the big WH vs FNC flap, O’Reilly will never get even a smell at another interview so he’d might as well straighten up and cover the story honestly.

This was posted yesterday. I thought it was a good summary of how Hussein could be manipulating Hawaiian birth registry regulations in order to cover his dubious birth records:

Well said! O’Reilly is desperate to have another interview with Mr. Obama. He thinks he is being “moderate”, but he behaves more like another Obama sycophant.

Thank you.

O’Reilly strikes me as believing in O’Reilly and O’Reilly’s money and not much else.

"Congress investigated." Does anyone know to what she is referring?

She's probably referring to Senate Resolution 511, where McCAIN, not Hussein, was investigated.

Personally I think that just about everyone in the "MSM" (Fox included) has drunk the Obot Kool-Aid. They are absolutely petrified and paralyzed with the fear of being labeled either a kook, or much worse, a RACIST! (Lord forbid THAT ever stick for your will receive the wrath of the Sharptons and the Jacksons.) ;-)

For now at least, we can pretty much count on a "quick, change the subject!" attitude from all but just a few...

Until Justice Roberts makes it clear that the court takes it seriously, and is hearing it.

Had Roberts joined Alito, Scalia, and Thomas, this would have been heard before the election, when Donofrio's case made it up to conference.

It takes 4.

Unless something breaks out of Hawaii.... and thats possible too.

It also took Donofrio to bring the Hawaiian authorities to heel. They have been illegally stonewalling requests for information; information they are required to make public ... to anyone .... under Hawaiian Law. Hawaiian statutes are quite clear ... Obama has no right to privacy in the issue, He waived it with the COLB release.

Donofrio has caught the Hawaiians in lies, misrepresentations, and just plain nonsense. They are not going down without a fight, though. They want to stretch it out as close to the next election as possible.

No place left in this fight for emotions. Stick with the law and with facts. The fact is, we are entitled to see what Hawaii's got. It's the law.
