WASHINGTON (AFP) – President Barack Obama has declared swine flu a "national emergency," the White House said Saturday, as the United States reels from millions of cases of infection and over 1,000 deaths.

Emergency powers trump the Bill of Rights
That’s the public explanation for this, but the real agenda behind this declaration may be far more sinister. Declaring a national emergency immediately gives federal authorities dangerous new powers that can now be enforced at gunpoint, including:
• The power to force mandatory swine flu vaccinations on the entire population.
• The power to arrest, quarantine or “involuntarily transport” anyone who refuses a swine flu vaccination.
• The power to quarantine an entire city and halt all travel in or out of that city.
• The power to enter any home or office without a search warrant and order the destruction of any belongings or structures deemed to be a threat to public health.
• The effective nullification of the Bill of Rights. Your right to due process, to being safe from government search and seizure, and to remain silent to avoid self-incrimination are all null and void under a Presidential declaration of a national emergency.
First, MRSA is not caused from a virus, the flu is caused by a virus. MRSA is not the “flesh eating” bacteria. MRSA stands for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It is a bacteria infection. People who do not have compromised immune systems also can “catch” MRSA. There is also VRSA (Vancomycin-resistant) and ORSA (Oxycillin-resistant).
Check my ironic tagline, and using the government’s “negative force” they are sending out at this moment, flipping it right back upon them, turning it into a “positive” (for our side).

The man ate fried “strick-o-lean” with every meal along with buttered biscuits and gravy.
Died of heart disease at 90.
His wife died of a heart attack a year later at age 92.
She ate the same foods.

I know of people who have had the so-called swine flu but some of their kids did not get it.
They make it sound like it is more contagious than any flu before this.
Yes, zero can not have it both ways. If it is so serious to cause a “national emergency” who so lax on getting vaccine supplies. And why give away 10% of our limited supply in the US to WHO for world redistribution?

My father never died of heart disease though. He died of Septicemia.
I am not sure that all the suspected cases might not be protective parents or just garden variety “colds.” Daughter was sick for 2 days before really thot she had “swine flu” and the docs we have spoken to are not advocating screening/testing for most suspected cases.
try eating it after leaving it outside the fridge for a few days instead. :)
So you finally tracked down how much Obama gave away to third world countries? Great. I am glad you are posting the info. People need know who to blame for this nightmare! OBAMA!
Maybe these points will help.
They don’t like to give Tamiflu as a prophylactic because of the potential to create a Tamiflu resistent strain of H1N1.
The state’s conduct random testing (thousands each week) to determine prevalence and type of predominate flu. Almost all tests are coming back H1N1.
If you have flu-like symptoms it is now presumed you have H1N1 based on the sentinel testing (which continues). Treatment for flu is the same regardless — so determining the type is pointless outside of the sentinel testing.
Testing every single person to determine the type of flu would be an incredible waste of time and resources. If they advocated testing every single person FReepers would rightfully be screaming “government waste” at the top of their lungs.
Declaring a national emergency does make sense as far as the rules for hospitals is concerned. Like everyone else, however, the timing is incredibly suspect.
