Anyone else having difficulty displaying foxnew.com/politics articles using Firefox,Safari or Camino? All of these browsers use the Google tool to block reported attack sites and web forgeries. Turning off that "feature" allows me to display the text of the article after relaunching the browser. Turning that "feature" on prevents the text from being displayed. Only the header is displayed. This has been happening for 3 weeks and I'm slowly testing other browsers. It would help if others would do the same. It would be great to record the browser name, version, and web page link so we can try to isolate the root cause. Word has it that it is not just foxnews.com but other conservative news sites as well.
Inquiries to foxnews go unanswered.
Both FireFox and Safari2 both open it for me. Running 10.4.11 on a MacBook Pro
Duh, the mis-spelling is from waking up way too early.
Actually the Google “tool” is built into Firefox. Under Firefox - preferences - security, there’s two check boxes. “Block reported attack sites” and “Block reported web forgeries”. Doing more research on those, you’ll find that Google collects site names that are supposedly “bad” and helpfully blocks them for you.
Further research shows that those check boxes may not be causing the problem. I’ll agree with previous post that a rouge ad is the cause. However, the propeller heads at FN won’t respond to inquiries nor can they seem to fix an obvious problem that’s been occurring for 3 weeks.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/ has the same problem. Although, their front page is blank except for the header ad from Government Motors.
On Mac OSx 10.5.8:
Camino Version 1.6.10
Safari 4.0.3
FireFox 3.5.3
On Windows:
Internet Explorer 7.0
Nope, not pimping for Fox. They are one of the few news organizations that give us real news, and I’m going through withdrawal. I’ve found FR and will continue to use it instead.
