GIANT KICKOFF FOR TEA PARTY EXPRESS
IN SAN DIEGO & LOS ANGELES
THIS SUNDAY - OCTOBER 25TH
(SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) - The Tea Party Express II (www.TeaPartyExpress.org) launches this Sunday with a giant kickoff rally in San Diego and a subsequent rally later in the day in Los Angeles. The Tea Party Express II: Countdown to Judgment Day national tour will span 19 days, rallies in 38 cities, and cover more than 7,000 miles. The tour marks the one-year point from the 2010 elections when numerous members of Congress will be targeted for defeat, as a result of their support of higher deficits, growth in the size and intrusiveness of government, higher taxes, bailouts and more. Momentum for the Tea Party Express II launch has grown during the past week as word spreads like wildfire of a conservative groundswell too large to be ignored. The tea party movement was written off earlier this year as a flash in the pan, but nothing could be further from the truth. Americans are taking action to take their government back from the failed and corrupt politicians who are bankrupting our nation, said Deborah Johns, Vice Chair of the Tea Party Express and one of the featured speakers on the tour. The Tea Party Express II will begin in San Diego, and is happy to announce that former Mayor Roger Hedgecock of AM 600 - KOGO, will serve as a featured keynote speaker at the rally. Other featured speakers will include Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, Ventura County Supervisor Peter Foy, and Our Country Deserves Better Chairman Howard Kaloogian. Also returning on tour will be singer/songwriter Lloyd Marcus (who penned the American Tea Party Anthem), the television and Internet singing sensation, Rivoli Revue, and patriotic singer, Diana Nagy. Events on Sunday, October 25th: 11:00am: San Diego, CA Tuna Harbor Park 4:30pm: Los Angeles, CA Griffith Park (Pad D Crystal Springs Area) The Tea Party Express II is a 19-day, 7,000-mile journey across the country with a caravan of vehicles holding tea party rallies in 38 cities across America. The Tea Party Express is advocating for less government spending, an end to the bailouts, lower taxes, opposition to government-run healthcare and opposition to the growth in the size and intrusiveness of government in general. Thanks for bumping the thread, and hope to see you there!
hoosiermama, sure will! Thanks for the encouragement
Under the new “National Emergency” on H1N1 virus, will Obama send out the National Guard and close off this and other demos like it?
Bumping again!
Need signage ideas!!
Darn it all. I told Jim I was gonna ride the trolley up from Chula Vista to attend and especially meet him but I have been sick and in and out of bed and sleep all day. Currently have a 102 fever. I hope this is like a 24 swine flu and it breaks by morning. Figure this may be my only chance for a while to meet Jim.
Woo hoo!! We’re here in San Diego now and preparing for the launch of Tea Party Express II tomorrow morning. Scouted out the terrain this afternoon and visited the USS Midway while there! Hope to see you here tomorrow!
Will attend in Tri-Cities.
You think since were in a national emergency ..that they might try and bust these up under the guise of not spreading the flu?
Also Syncro and JimRob, any idea what time you are going to be over there tomorrow morning?
I have to get my lady friend to come with me or run by my house tomorrow, she has my favorite T-Shirt and I want to wear it.
They ARE trying to bust it up, but the old fashioned way. There is a huge retweet on Twitter to go and counter protest the "teabaggers," as they like to call us.
I hope enough L.A. conservatives will brave the 80 degrees-and-sunny weather to be there.
Looking forward to it!!
We are not far either and are wanting to go....the question is about the parking and how long before the Tea Party should we go??
It’s in the Crystal Springs area of the park ... there is a map at the link. Griffith Park has street parking and parking lots:

TEA PARTY express could also advocate for FREE SPEECH, FREE PRESS, FAIR DEBATE and policy in the House and Senate, and against ACORN,FRAUD,AFGHANISTAN, PUBLIC HEALTH CARE, DEATH PANELS, FREE ABORTION, AMNESTY,SWINE FLU HOAX .....
The Democrats are not suggesting cutting entitlement spending. They just want to transfer those entitlement payments from seniors to poor illegal aliens and blacks. Their healthcare plan required massive tax increases and increases the deficit so it certainly isn’t a entitlement spending cut.
Secondly, seniors were forced to pay into the Medicare system for decades so it would be wrong to deny them care now. Democrats want to transfer those payments to groups that haven’t paid a dime into the system.
Ready to meet up with the Express in Carson City, NV. I’m bringing my 18 year old daughter as she will be voting in the 2010 election.
I drove by Crystal Springs this morning while I went out for breakfast.
If you enter at the Riverside Drive & Los Feliz entrance, you will notice as you pass the pony rides that they are doing extensive road work. You will be forced to turn left.
Go for quite awhile and after a few stops there will be a 4 way stop. There will be a blue sign that says “Crystal Springs”. Turn right as it says. Very shortly after you turn you will come to what looks like a parking lot which appears to be a dead end. Turn left.
You will come to a spot that says “Crystal Springs Picnic”. I drove all over that area and, as of this morning, there was simply nothing that would indicate that there was any sort of event that was upcoming. No signs, no banners, no people, nothing.
Hope we see each other there.
I know the area well. Hoping that I will be able to be there.
Polly
I’ll be in Griffith Park today along with hopefully many , many others.
I wish this was going to be on a main thoroughfare though, like the event at federal building on Wilshire in Sept. It’s fun to have large crowds passing by via auto and express support (or disapproval).
Whatever, let’s make this a great afternoon!!!!! Bring signs, flags, and above all extra people!!!!!
So tell us, how did it go today? Waiting to hear some great news.
I was there and it was fantastic. The turnout was at least several thousand. All of the speakers were great with the theme of “now is the time to act” running through every speech. The salute to the military past and present and the singing of God Bless America were particularly moving moments.
All attendees were given homework assignments.
Re-read your Declaration of Independence and Constitution also. Many refs through the rally to them.
