DUH!!....he's skipping it because for him and his Maoist pals it's a day of weeping, not joy and liberation.

Obama doesn't do "triumphalism." Unless it is his own.

I’m embarrassed that this man is the President. This nation deserves better.

I think he is skipping the event because he is sad Communism fell.
To: dmartin
By now its obvious that he wants Communism back. Has nothing to do with “triumphalism”.

Obama doesn’t want to offend Putin or the Russians, because he loves them...

As he works daily on restoring communisms to even greater power, he of course, chooses to ignore the fall of the Soviet Union.

He should definitely attend. He can give a “major speech” apologizing for the United States destroying that noble and highest form of government.
To: dmartin
In view of his administration’s admiration of Mao, the Taliban, Castro, Chavez et al, I don’t picture Obambi in a frame of mind to celebrate the END of communism. I think he would consider that to be the wrong end of the celebration.
Hopefully enough prayers are being offered for the protection of our country so that we will avoid seeing the Obambi crowd celetrating the firm establishment of communism in our country, even though he and his minions apparently consider themselves to be the bringers of the advent of communism here.

Obama does triumphalism every time the win involves him personally.
He’s not attending the celebration because, like Marxists the World over, he is unhappy about the end of Soviet communism. And he doesn’t want to shine a light on the fact that the policies he favors failed big time in the last century.

Obama’s supporters will be holding candlelight vigils and singing “Kumbaya” on that date.

A simple declaration of thanks that communism fell would do wonders for Obama’s imnage. We will not hear those words. He might say something that he’s glad millions of people are now choosing their own destiny. But we will not hear a particular condemantion of socialism from a Lenin wannabe.
