Cliff Kincaid over at Accuracy in Media (AIM) announces Fox News has fired Marc Lamont Hill. Cliff represented AIM at NewsCorp's annual meeting. (”Accuracy in Media is a News Corp. shareholder.”) AIM reports that he asked Rupert Murdoch why someone with Hill's radical views would have a role as a Fox News commentator:
Before Kincaid completed the background for his question, News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch interrupted Kincaid to say that he appreciated Cliff's work on this matter, and that Hill had been "fired" last week.
We look forward to confirmation of this report. If accurate, it is a major improvement to Fox News and cable news in general. People of every side of the political spectrum should appreciate a robust debate, but radicals of Marx Lamont Hill's ilk do not merit a seat on the highest rated program in news, The O'Reilly Factor.

I certainly hope this is true. Hill does not bring intelligent discourse to any debate. I recently saw him on the Fox Business News Channel. He is an idiot. I can’t believe this man is allowed to be an educator at any University.
I think Hill obtained his degrees from a box of cracker jacks.

I watch FOX because I don’t want to see liberals or hear their opinions. We get enough liberals on all the other news outlets. Why should FOX give them another outlet? I turn off O’Reilly everytime he has Marc Lamont Hill on his show. Huckabee is also getting too many libs on his program which I do not watch when he has on the libs. We don’t need them. Conservatives have to be educated in the conservative point of view which most who say they are conservative don’t even understand. We need to showcase strong conservatives on FOX. (I would also kick out Gingrich)
Now I only have to turn the channel on Juan and the other stupid liberals.
If that is true, I won’t watch Gingrich either. He is a RINO. He used to be very good to listen too. Had a lot going for him. It was with this last marriage that he changed to milquetoast. He does not represent the conservative point of view any more.
Unfortunately this is true. He used to be a hero of mine. I don't understand what has happened to him unless he knows something we don't that would cause him to abandon the conservative movement.
But I don't think he does. He's just stopped fighting and we need fighters.
Hill was a Liberal SPASTIC! Good to see him gone.
I send an email to Fox News everyday telling them to give Glenn Beck O’Rielly’s time slot. I’ll bet if they do it, Beck will get double the ratings O’Fat Head gets.
FOX isn’t conservative. It’s just fair and balanced, and compared to the government-controlled media, that seems conservative. I’m not afraid to hear a whackjob liberal like Hill because he has no power over me, and I like to hear what their talking points are. I know I can count on FOX to put an honest person with an opposing view on with him, so we can all see the difference between our side and the liberal/progressive/communist side. Putting Hill on alongside someone like Laura Ingraham is big win for us.
Letting him move over to MSNBC where he will go on opposite Meghan McCain (for the “conservative” viewpoint) isn’t going to help us.
Juan has surprised me a number of times over the years. He’s a leftist, but he is willing to listen and at times actually concede points. As such, I’m inclined to give him some credit where credit is due.
Both you and I would accurately agree that he’s still very problematic. That being said, his better than probably 90% of the left. Still as bad as the left is these days, that isn’t saying much.
For instance on this matter would Juan have gotten this worked up if you and I were the targets of racist charges?

Ailes won’t move Beck yet, not while he is garnering top ratings there. He will move him when another show falters to place the time slot back on top or if someone resigns and moves on. What other channel ahs such high ratinga at 2 pm pacific and 5 pm eastern? This used to be CBS/NBC/ABC 6:00 news hour where every one checked out the news, Beck is crushing them all. It is a smart move to hold him there for now. I tivo him or watch the rerun later, but I never miss him. I love his passion on the issues, I feel the same way about the issues too.
I know. But America isn’t of that persuasion. Thus, those who are elected should dump these people even if we the people were so stupid in the first place as to elect the people who appointed these people.
Does that make sense?
When such people are hired because of their political ideology, and that ideology runs contrary to that of the vast majority of Americans, they either think we are utter fools or else that they can get away with plugging these people into jobs that involve decision-making that will negatively impact us. The first is delusional, the second is a roll of the dice at best.
