On September 10th of this year the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) posted a press release informing the world that “from October 19-25, more than 60 network TV shows [will] spotlight the power and personal benefits of service,” and that this “unprecedented block of TV programming is the first wave of a multi-year ‘I Participate’ campaign.”

If you want to have some fun with noticing the obvious, check out the stock head pictures that you see in advertising, magazines, stores, etc. I refer to the smiling faces that adorn the signage, the labels, and whatever else, smiling faces that have nothing to do with the message. I have taken to mentally noting what sort of people are normally depicted.

When I see these images, I'm already in "resent" mode, since I consider them an attempt to manipulate attitudes. Then I throw in the fact that a certain ethnic group is conspicuous by its rarity in such media, and I'm ready to bite the heads off chickens.

Shepard Fairey is a pop-art artist. His a ripoff modern version of what Andy Warhol originated.

That said, he sourced numerous swipes from Communist (and Nazi) propaganda to “create” his modern works.

He also appropriated the image of Andre The Giant (he started the Andre Has A Posse sticker campaign) as well as 2 quotes from John Carpenter's They Live. Those quotes are “OBEY” and “This is your god.”

Now we have in this propagandist, the man who created the wheatpasted illegally posted “HOPE” “CHANGE” posters.

A man Barack Obama personally thanked (knowing that he worked outside of the law to post his works...)

There's precedent for this from the dreadful Klintoon years when anti-drug messages were thrown into TV shows all around the dial. Scifi geeks will recall the ST:TNG episode Symbiosis where two groups who trade a medicine get into a dispute and the medicine is withheld. This eventually leads to a confrontration where a member of the group that was supposed to receive the medicine jacks up Riker with a dose of voltage until the medicine is furnished. Turns out the medicine is really a drug that the second group is addicted to and around that discovery are all manner of anti-drug messages.

Not trying to minimize it because I didn't like it any better back then, but it's not new. In fact, this should dispel those foolish notions some people have that Her Heinous, Hillary Rotten Klintoon, would be a better President than Obama. A lot of the things being done now are things either done or attempted by the Klintoons and certainly things believed in by them especially when you consider the number of detestable Clintonistas in this administration like Rahm Emanuel and Carol Browner as well as Her Heinous.

I think you have to be a certified moron to watch TV these days anyway (unless you are watching a specific sports event). In that case, propaganda isn’t really necessary because the dummies are already falling all over themselves. Oh wait, OBambi wants them to work, that might be a little harder.
