I honestly don’t know what is wrong with the people who latch on to these threads to bash Orly.

I’m beginning to wonder how many trolls there are on this website.

I hold the same opinion you do: Maybe she’s nuts, maybe she’s not.

"If she was able to make Joy nervous, more power to her. As a screeching, kool-aid drinking, in-the-tank-for-Obama leftist, if Joy is nervous, Orly made her case."

"(I didn’t watch the video; just offering opinion)"

You may want to watch the video. Joy Behar asked Orly why she was so nervous. Orly did hold her ground against Behar though.

Was everyone that ridiculed (deservedly) the “truthers” over the last several years “apologists for Bush?” or just folks that like making fun of (what they believed to be) crazy people?

That logic doesn't fly. That's like saying that since Obama is president, all presidents are Obama.

Birthers are questioning the eligibility of the man who sits in the Oval Office, and we (Birthers) simply want the Constitution upheld. Barry Soetoro's refusal to live up to his "open and transparent" promise and release his bona fides has fed all of this. Our demands are quite reasonable.

Truthers on the other hand basically have accused the US government of murdering 3,000 of its own citizens. These folks might as well be lumped in with Holocaust deniers and moon landing fakers. Also, I've never heard of a Birther who also is a "truther."

I would hardly say Behar was “nervous”

I can’t stand her, but she’s great composure.

It seems that Vattel was available in English as early as 1759 and a copy was on hand during the writing of the Constitution.

I believe there was an English version as early as 1759 or 1760, which referred to "the natives or indigenes," but did not use the term "natural-born." As far as I am aware, the only legal treatise using the specific term "natural-born" during that period was Blackstone, who defined "natural-born" subjects according to jus soli principles, while recognizing jus sanguinis had been applied to children born outside the realm under various statutes.

Excellent idea. Can we include the requirement to see a real paper copy of the long form held by the Hawaii DoH? I do not want to question another internet only Photoshoped generated version.

I am in for $1OO. Can we get 2,000 people donating $100.

You your proof that he's not a natural-born citizen is...?

Not proof, in a legal sense, but he claims his father was never a US citizen, ever. That's enough. It might be a little harder to understand than if, which is still possible, he was born abroad, and was never a citizen at all, or was later naturalized, but it's still enough for a disqualification.

Now for legal proof, you'd need his birth certificate, a real paper one, certified with raised seal, and possibly with affidavits. You'd also need some proof, that the person named on that BC as his father (if any!) was indeed not a US Citizen. In that I'm at somewhat of a loss how legal proof could be obtained. Maybe the government of Kenya would provide proof of citizenship for BHO Sr, whereas they'd be loathe to provide any such proof, if it exists, about BHO II's. Perhaps Visa records are maintained? If so they'd show British National BHO entering in '59, extending in '62, when he went to Harvard, and perhaps in between. (Or perhaps U of H, and Harvard) would have records of foreign students?)

But even the possibility, if even only somewhat probable, that an ineligible person sits in the Oval Office, and acts as Commander in Chief, ought to give you the willies. It should also be the starting point for whatever investigations can be conducted.

An honest man would be fully cooperating with those investigations, as long as they were limited to the single question of eligibility. In an earlier case, his lawyers claimed something on the long form would be deeply and personally embarrassing. Now what could that be? Bastardy perhaps, or a father other than BHO Sr. is about the extent of what it could be, that is not already known, such as his mother being "Caucasian", and still not constitute being ineligible, which would certainly be deeply embarrassing, to say the least.

“Also, I’ve never heard of a Birther who also is a “truther.”

Oh neither have I. I am actually quite open to the BC issue, call me an agnostic. The problem I have with this whole thing is not the issue, it is the mouthpiece.

Thank you for donating to sane attorneys who are seeking the court to force the documents to be revelaed so the truth can be known.

The root appeal of Birhterdom is that it promises a magic substitute for the hard work of politics

I called it the "secret special combination of Indonesian law, 18th Century Swiss legal theory and Kenyan interview with an old lady that will make it like the last year never happened, and somehow Dick Cheney will be proclaimed president."

You STILL didn't answer my question: HOW IS A CITIZEN THAT IS NOT A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN A SECOND-CLASS CITIZEN?

There are two and only two types of American citizens: Natural born (born in America) and naturalized (immigrated to America). Only natural born citizens type may aspire to the office of the presidency. Naturalized citizens are denied this, a concession they must make to take part in the naturalization process.

The birther fantasy of "natural born citizen" requiring two U.S. citizen parents, if implemented, would render millions of American born citizens ineligible for the presidency, in essence creating a second class of citizens with less rights those American born citizens whose parents were citizens.

Fortunately, this birther definition is just that, a fictional device created solely to deny eligibility to Obama and outside of the birther circle is taken seriously by nobody and, in fact, was rendered moot the moment that Chief Justice Roberts swore in a man whose foreign father is a matter of public record to the office of the presidency.

Taking the above into consideration, it appears that my definition of "natural born citizen" is currently the Law of the Land while the birthers' fictional definition has been laughed out of courtroom after courtroom.

So, who are the delusional ones who refuse to accept the facts?

Duh. People do it all the time. Someone born on US soil to a citizen and a legally resident non-citizen is a citizen by right of birth (aka "natural-born citizen").

AKA, an assumption. Never adjudicated. But as far as being a citizen by birth, neither parent need be a US citizen. (Nor, AFAIK, even a legal resident) at least according to several adjudications. Wong Kim Ark, for example, who was the child of two aliens, although lawfully in the country.

BTW, BHO Sr was not a resident, he was a foreign student, a nonresident alien for immigration purposes. He was (probably) legally present in the US, but he was not a resident.

Your list is 32 items long...yet the only threads I see repeated over and over and over again are the BC threads...everyday, no fewer than 2 threads focusing on the BC...that’s it.

And thank you. As a follow-up correction, I provided two cites to the Lynch case, but upon checking the second cite further, I should not have included it because (a) it is not a complete reproduction of the case; and (b) the blog's author has editorialized in the text of the opinion excerpts cited. Therefore, the appropriate link to use is this one.
