She should be able to file for emancipation, if she is almost 18.
I wonder whether there is more to the story. How and why Florida? I suspect a boyfriend may be in the shadows.
If they don’t have documentation for her, chances are they don’t have any for themselves. If they all leave, the girl dies.
It may not be a good idea to set the precedence that all a minor needs to do is claim that a parent threatened to kill them in order for the state to support a runaway's actions.
"We enjoy watching white voters attacked, and
the beheadings of children and women.
If the upcoming video is especially good,
Judge Dawson will be the Sharia Czar at the WH."
Her parents are members of a cult that teaches converts leaving the faith must be killed, and she is just such a convert. Additionally you have a 17 year old telling you that her life is in danger.
What "proof" are you demanding? A dagger stuck in her heart?
Parents do not have the right to abuse their children.
BS...if she had claimed she wanted an abortion in florida the court would protect her emancipation at 13...
Ohio does not recognize emancipation.
The threat of murder of Muslim converts is real. It is uncommon in this country. http://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/08/somalia-muslims-murder-convert-from-islam-to-christianity.html
BINGO!!!
Works for women when they want to take kids away from their fathers during divorces. The men get screwed. So why not accept this girl's claim?
A really sad day in Florida jurisprudence.....a judge ruled in favor of parents who are involved in a “cult” that believes that all converts are infidel, and must be killed.
Disgusting the way the FL Dept of Law Enforcement acted...not interviewing anyone in the Islamic cult center where her parents are involved.
Also, the radio station WDBO has been pro-Islamic, anti-Christian in their radio coverage. Always referring to the Christian church and its pastor as “nuts”....while never reporting the facts surrounding the mosque that the parents attended. WDBO coverage was anti-Christian/pro-Islamic
Rifka Bary will continously be under death threats from Muslims....in her family and outside her family. Lets hope that some brave people eschew this ruling of judicial misconduct and get her away to someplace else. At least anyone who would defy the judges order....they will have an open court hearing...not a hidden juvenile hearing
Your statement reminds me of comment a friend of mine made once. We saw a really nice Hemi Road Runner going down the road. He looked at me and said I have one just like that, but mine is yellow and its a VW.
I never said we were, I was simply stating a fact. If you see someone in trouble, please feed your self righteousness and ask for legal status before calling 911.
The laws of this once great republic just dont protect the innocent anymore, do they?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
No, they don’t.
This is the same country that could elect Fidel Castro, have the Electoral College vote for him, have a Supreme Court judge swear Fidel in, and then say that the citizen has “no standing” to question it.
I believe that is your domain, But I do worry about people's compassion and wanting to spend others money just as much as the liberals do.

But is it just a harmless threat?
The girl is 17 already- why take the chance?
