President Obama is prepared to accept some Taleban involvement in Afghanistans political future and is unlikely to favour a large influx of new US troops being demanded by his ground commander, a senior official said tonight.
Mr Obama appears to have been swayed in recent days by arguments from some advisers, led by Vice-President Joe Biden, that the Taleban do not pose a direct threat to the US and that there should be greater focus on tackling al-Qaeda inside Pakistan.

This would be like asking the NVA to help in Vietnam...I wonder if Code Pink will stand up against this. I won't hold my breath for NOW to respond either. They like to march their marches and hate men, but they're all a bunch of phoneys when the poop is really hitting the fan.

This comes straight from the Daley arm of the Mob running Chicago. This is all Obama knows. Huge corrupt criminal enterprises are supposed to run governments. That is all Obama has ever seen and all he knows. So this is SOP for the one who prostrates himself before Saudi Kings.

Would that be the same Taliban who harbored al quaeda and shot women in the head point blank in the public square?Bambi appears to be trying to appease them, AND the mullah regime in Iran, which is perpetrating similar atrocities.

That is a very interesting question. Assuming their latest new-found knowledge announcement was made to provide Obama coverage for staying engaged, CP must be feeling a little betrayed right about now if this report is true.
This move would be despicable.

Please explain that tortured logic to the parents of soldiers who have sacrificed their lives to liberate Afghanistan from the Taliban and al Qaeda, Mr. Present. How about we just let your take a turn on their watch and see how accomodating your are of the Taliban. FTS! Pardon my blue language! I cannot stand this man.

What did Obama think about America's hands-off strategy in Rwanda? Rwanda wasn't a threat to us either.

Their history is full of Superpowers coming in and leaving. They aren't going to help us if they don't think we won't stay and protect them until they can do it themselves. And Obama is proving that their thoughts were correct, we are bugging out.
Why should they help us when in the end we will leave them to be slaughtered?
They respect power. When we were kicking ass and taking names they gravitated toward us. When we began to dither and look for the exits they gravitated back to the Taliban.

I've got no answers on this 444Flyer but being an ally to the Taliban sounds like sleeping in an outhouse and praying no one poops.

Why not? President Obama lets the Communists run the U.S. Government. Seems consistent to me.

How about leaving that decision up to the women of Afghanistan.

“...the Taleban do not pose a direct threat to the US...”
Oh, ok, then I guess everything’s donkey-whory. So long as the threat isn’t DIRECT.

Shooting women point blank in a soccer stadium (NOT the public square. There IS a difference, you know) is just another quaint cultural observance of this ancient people. Why, even Genghis Khan used to shoot women in the head in soccer stadiums. That’s where they got it from.
