President Obama is prepared to accept some Taleban involvement in Afghanistans political future and is unlikely to favour a large influx of new US troops being demanded by his ground commander, a senior official said tonight.
Mr Obama appears to have been swayed in recent days by arguments from some advisers, led by Vice-President Joe Biden, that the Taleban do not pose a direct threat to the US and that there should be greater focus on tackling al-Qaeda inside Pakistan.

Who the h@!! do these ignoramuses think was in charge of Afghanistan on 9/11? What a bunch of treasonous fools!
This the same Taliban who murdered scores of people outside the Indian Embassy in Kabul today? Obama is a disaster.
Obama supports women beaters!
OOB: Liberal use of low-yeild thermos - say 5MT, MOABs, then bring in the 30mm...
They are both so far off the reservation.... and we all know they don’t give a damn about the people they are leaving behind.
Right. That is a relief, but the Taliban will be forming the nucleus of his Civilian Defense Corp...
This really upsets me and there is nothing any of us can do about it... where is the people in the GOP speaking out for our soldiers and for the people of Afghanistan?
Bring the troops home. The really dangerous enemy is no longer in Afghanistan. It is in Washington!
Or a new "Diversity Czar" position within his administration.

CAIRO (AP) President Barack Obama says women should have the right to choose whether they want to be equal with men.
He discussed womens rights in a speech about Americas relationship with the Muslim world.
I guess it's ok with Zero for them to kill women and rape boys.
I would loovvvvvvvvvvvve to hear W give a speech right now.
Perfect resemblance of Zero. I can’t get over the line where it says “keep al qaeda at bay”. This administration beyond STUPID!
This would be like asking the NVA to help in Vietnam...I wonder if Code Pink will stand up against this.
Prayers for you.
They are probably afraid that the US will pull out and leave them to the taliban.
.
God bless you.
You posted was I was going to say...It will be interesting to see what stance Code Pink takes on this. Not that they’re normally relevant, but if they actually start fighting for women’s rights, as the female Afghans have strongly pleaded that they do, then they’ll have no logical choice but to oppose Taliban involvement in Afghanistan’s government. Of course, no one has ever confused them with logical beings, so what they’ll decide to stand up for remains to be seen...
