Hey guess what? Letterman's a slimeball, but Craig Ferguson has been kind of bipartisan in his comedy.
His producer is Catherine Hoeven.
Catherine Hoeven's brother is John Hoeven, the Republican governor of North Dakpota.
Oops...typoo...I didn’t mean to “p” in North Dakota.
Dakpota.
Preview...
Was he the guy who put the sniper rifle on Bush in 2000 or 2004?
Craig Ferguson is Great!
Would love to see him get the 11:30 spot.
Craig Ferguson is a funny guy. Just don’t know if he’s versatile/polished enough for Letterman’s slot. Would be interesting to see him guest host.
I know. I’m sorry. I just had one of those brain quakes, where I thought, “I HATE Letterman...he needs to go and NOBODY knows about Craig Ferguson’s producer...”
Honestly...
Sniper rifle? I must have missed it.
Even though Ferguson’s is a WORLDWIDE PANTS production, I find him infinitely funnier, looser, more spontaneous, and just in general more entertaining than Letterman. My wife is now hooked on Ferguson ,which she records, and insists I watch it. Great thing is, Ferguson does it all by himself, with no band, no sidekick, and a minimum of guests. It’s really a risky format, but the guy is so genuinely funny and ready to laugh, that both audiences AND his guests really enjoy themselves. He is a bit of a master, and owns a highly personal & individual comic style.
No problem.
I looked up “American on Purpose” on Amazon. Judging from the comments it sounds like a great read and deserves a review in one of the conservative ‘zines.
What comes through in the comments is Craig’s lack of a mean streak, even when he’s in the depths of alcoholism and depression. I’ve seen his show from time to time and I agree that nastiness is not part of his ouvre.
His interviews are awesome!
I think he’s kind of struggling since his show gets NO money.
He jokes about Dave as his boss...in a way that makes me wonder if he knew about this....
Free Craig!
I can’t wait to buy his book! His specials on 9/11 are always touching...you can tell he feels it...
and the show where he became a citizen moved me to tears.
No, the sniper rifle on Bush was the work of the unlamented Craig Kilborn, happily GONE from television.
He may have been a little too snarky a little too early, because he was doing it about six years ago, before it became ‘mainstream’.
Letterman never allows people to guest host...
and when Adam Sandler stepped in, his bulldog was funnier than Letterman.
You just NAILED it!
Thank you! Maybe we should write to CBS.
Imagine what Ferguson could do with A list guests and a BUDGET?
Letterman needs to go. Everyone knew it...even BEFORE we found out he’s boinking staff.
One of those late night guys thought it was funny to show Bush in the cross hairs of a sniper scope. I don’t remember for sure if it was him. Of course it would be in poor taste to do that to obama.
I remember him getting pretty nasty with Sarah after she was selected by McCain.
However I also remember him being pretty funny with her before when he had her on “live” from Alaska. Making with the “hot librarian” schtick.
He’s been typically nasty toward Rush.
Ferguson would do just fine ..although.. I recently saw a monologue he did about Islam, Terrorism and USA. He told terrorists and all of Islam to (BLEEEEP) OFF!1
I don’t stay up late enough to see his show.. but when I can I DO!!!!
No, that apparently WASN’T FERGUSON...that was Craig Kilborn...and maybe that’s why he went down in flames.
