MOORESVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Authorities across the country are on the look out for two Iredell County girls -- including one who is 9-months pregnant -- who disappeared with their step-father last week.
Janette Hess says her 12-year-old pregnant daughter Keara and 11-year-old Sierra, vanished with their stepfather, Matthew Hess, on Thursday, Sept. 24.
Janette Hess said she hasn't seen her daughters since they went to bed on Wednesday around 9 p.m.
"It's been a nightmare, I've been living in a nightmare," Hess said.

The “if it feels good do it” culture has a vicious backhand.
Who is the father of the 12-year olds baby?? Step daddy?
Depressing. And who is the daddy of the 12 yr old’s baby...could it be...mommy’s boyfriend?
I feel so bad for children now. Everything is totally wrong and upside down for so many kids.
If I were a betting man I wouldn’t bet against you on that one.
Who is the father
the baby and its DNA would prove who
I guess it’s a little late to tell Mom her first priority should be her children, not getting laid.
Miss Keara must be physically advanced to be pregnant at twelve?
She’s “been living a nightmare”? I guess that started a while ago? Maybe she should have called the cops when she found out the kid was pregnant. Evil.
Not necessarily, just because she has a menstrual cycle doesn’t mean her body is ready to safely carry a child. I hope they find this girls soon.
A pregnant 12-year-old! God help us!
It isn’t that great a shock to anyone in NC to see that this story is from Mooresville.
Not really ...AVERAGE age of onset of menses has dropped to 11
I’m with you. I’ll bet the father is the Step Daddy, and I’ll give odds.
The average age of menarche in American girls is about 11.75 years

FYI.. From local papers .. says that the Stepdad was investigated by DSS( Child Protective Services ) and had custody with the Mom and they were living together.. doesn’t look like the Stepdad was the Rapist or DSS would already have him in jail..
Could he have taken the kids to protect them from Mom???
Lovely. My baby girl is exactly 11.75 years old right now.
I've been dreading this day. Call me an old fuddy-duddy, but darn it, she's just a kid, and I wouldn't mind her staying that way just a bit longer.
.... sigh ....
I will give you a few clues about when the curse will strike. One, your daughter will become more moody, almost like its all of a sudden. Two, she will likely have started developing breasts.
Well, she's not budding yet, but she has been quicker to emotional outbursts in recent months (though that sort of thing isn't unusual for her anyway).
At least my wife has talked to her about "crossing over", so she probably won't go into shock about it when it does happen.
After she's done "crossing over" I think I want to step in and be a part of the growing up conversations. Right now, I'm leaving it to Mom.
I've got the three boys to deal with, which is a whole 'nother world.
That is what I was wondering? Why would step Dad run with the two girls especially when one is due anytime? It makes no sense unless there is something to hide?
