The suspicion that President Obama was born outside of the United States has been written off as a conspiracy theory, but that hasn't stopped the so-called "birther" movement from keeping their theories alive.
A fundamentalist Christian Web site LivePrayer.com has produced a 28-minute infomercial dedicated to questioning where the president was born. It has run at least once on a CBS affiliate in Lubbock, Texas.
LivePrayer.com was founded by Christian minister Bill Keller, who committed his life to God after spending time in prison for insider trading, according to his site. The infomercial is also the work of attorney Gary Kreep, executive director of the birther group United States Justice Foundation, Talking Points Memo reports. He reportedly said the infomercial will run for at least two and a half weeks on stations around the country.
Mr. Obama has "vigorously fought.. to keep his birth information secret," Keller says in the program. "What is he hiding?"
The half hour spot encourages viewers to call a phone number to add their names to a list petitioning GOP leaders to "force President Obama to obey the law." In thanks for their support, viewers will receive a "Got a birth certificate?" bumper sticker. It also informs viewers that for just $30, they can have a fax sent on their behalf to all 50 state attorneys general and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder demanding they force President Obama to supply his official State of Hawaii birth certificate.
"Join hundreds of thousands of Americans who simply want the truth," Keller says.
Keller may be right about the persistence of the rumor -- a recent poll showed that that 42 percent of Republicans believe Barack Obama was born outside of the United States while 22 percent said they were unsure.
And while the White House has, of course, dismissed the theory as "totally crazy," some Republicans have quietly perpetuated the myth. California Rep. John Campbell co-sponsored a bill (with at least nine others) requiring presidential candidates to submit a birth certificate and refused to give a straight answer when asked whether he believed the president was born in the United States.
So, let me make sure I’m getting this straight:
0bama’s lawyers have gone to court and gotten all kinds of cases dismissed for whatever spurious reasons, and not even once have they presented any birth-related documents?
If 0bama was born in Hawaii and his (Daily Kos) COLB was legit, a reasonable person would think that would be one of the first pieces of evidence submitted to the court. Since none of his lawyers are willing to use it as evidence, what conclusion should a reasonable person draw from that?

There may or may not be condemning evidence in Obama/Soetoro/Dunham’s birth certificate. But Obama told us his father was not a citizen. “Born on U.S. soil of parents who are its citizens” is the law. This is legal philosophy which was known as the “law of nations” (note the lower case letters) in the Western world dating at least from Cicero. Our founders adopted it, referring to a masterful compilation by Swiss legal philosopher Emer de Vattel called “The Law of Nations” (capital letters) into a Constitution for our a republic, where the British, a monarchy, had different rules, since trust was based upon blood lines in England. The definition is stated clearly in court cases from 1789. The most clear, a quote by Chief Justice John Marshall from Vattel, is in The Venus 12 U.S. 253, on page 289. “Indegene” is the French word for natural-born.
It really is that simple. Obama supporters and our legislature want to cloud the issue because they are complicit, and should all be removed. If our Constitution has meaning, Obama is not a legitimate president. To be able to choose the Articles and Amendments which are affective renders the U.S. an oligarchy. I guess we knew that, but now it is official.
Bring a birth announcement to any government office and try to use it as identification.
It just won’t work. It’s insufficient. The long-form birth certificate is what he’s going to have to produce, not some cheesy newspaper snippet.

Just keep pointing out that Obama has spent over 1 million dollars to keep his birth records sealed, and his Occidental College records sealed as well.

That none of the cases have gone to trial would be one conclusion. None of the cases have gotten even close enough to trial to allow for discovery would be another conclusion. But that's just me.
My point is that Obama must have been born there if there was an announcement in the paper.
That doesn’t prove anything. Newspaper birth notices might be placed by the hospital (in the days before privacy laws) or they might be placed by the family.
That’s logical. A lot of families place phony birth announcements in newspapers, just to have it in their back pockets should a situation arise.
Then my sons must have been born in Ohio since their grandmother put in a birth announcement for them in her local newspaper! The fact that they were born in Illinois should make it very confusing for you!
There was nothing phony about it. The announcement doesn’t say where he was born.

Now we come to the distraction portion of this evening’s debate. I’m talking about Obama being born in the United States. I don’t care sho placed the birth announcement that he was born in the US. An announcement was placed. Facts area stubborn things, or is this some conspiracy theory that started back in the early 60? The birthers are taking away from the REAL issues that this disaster of a prez is causing. Socialized Healthcare, Cap and Trade, on and on. Instead, we look like fools, like libs with Bush who didn’t keep a dentist appointment in the National Guard. They were still screaming the day he left office.

It sure is. Obama will release his birth certificate the day he leaves office. Like I said, falling right into his trap. What bothers me is the left calls everyone on the right birthers. Some of us are still fans of common sense. Who cares about an address. Those things can be explained away. What cannot be explained away is the fact that an announcement of his birth was placed.
