Obama will have to do something now, what will it be?

Turn our Nukes over to Russia for destruction.

Bailout all of the homeless puppies in America?

Give every state their very own czar?

Perhaps he will give another speech in Germany.... ‘America sucks’ speeches always makes him feel better.

Dear Reader

I wish I could claim credit for it but it was posted on another thread. Poster said he got it from a sign at the 09-12 Citizens rally in DC.

If Approval and Disapproval continue linearly at the same rate (which is a leap of logic in politics)the two curves will cross on November 26th 2009.

I like the looks of that chart. Keep in mind that Gallup is slanted to the left, too, so the actual numbers are worse. But the trend is obvious enough.

I would not be surprised if some of these polls are playing with their data or simply fudging the umbers to make sure he stays at 50% or above. Given how close to 50 he’s been including at 50 a few times, the decline in support for a number of his key policies, etc... I find it hard to believe he wouldn’t drop below 50 on at least one day in the past 2 months. A few polls have had him below 50 but all the big network and MSM ones haven’t. No surprise there.

And these samples that have a 15 pt Dem ID advantage? Please.

But I do think it’s clear that’s his September PR blitz has arrested the decline of August. It was to be expected. With Congress back in session, a big natl tv speech, going on all the shows, being front and center, having the bully pulpit, he was able to take control of things much better than in August when he was off stage and all the attention was on the town halls and the opposition.

He still has 60 votes in the Senate and 260 in the House. Opposition to health care in the 50-55% range won’t be enough to stop it. We really need another big moment, something that will get natl attention and coverage and that everyone will be exposed to. Shift the debate back to the other side and take the initiative. Now, when you’re in the minority and have no real access that’s hard to do. We can’t have natl a primetime speech on all the networks. We don’t have all of the media flacking for us.

I’m not sure what exactly would do the trick, but there has to be something otherwise it’ll likely pass. All with dem votes, but pass nonetheless.

Judging by the math, I assume that poll was taken in Chicago...

Still indicates a huge sickness/malaise/stupidity/etc... across the country. (Is "moronicity" a word?)

Considering the outright deviousness and hatefulness this cesspool dweller has demonstrated during the first nine months, the very fact that he is still over 30-35 percent approval shows how far this Nation has descended into a mindless tyranny.

Oh, even FOX is singing the boy’s praises tonight. He discovered the second nuclear site in Iran don’cha know. He’s bringing the world together and we will all sing in harmony forever and ever. Watch the numbers go way up next week.

I totally agree with your analysis. And today he made a statement about Iran’s nuke program that all of the networks with the exception of Fox portrayed as tough and decisive. He had the British and French standing next to him and the Russians seeming to agree sanctions are inevitable. I predict his ratings will start to rise. Nothing helps a president more than the appearance he’s handling an international crisis.

Huh?
Decisive about what?
This guy can't even make any decision on Afghanistan, even as our soldiers are slaughtered because 0bama’s indecision is sending the wrong signals to the Taliban, and reinvigorating them, and you are here talking about 0bama being “tough and decisive”?
On what planet is that?
When is the last time you saw Iran being impressed by empty talk from some weaselly president?

“. I predict his ratings will start to rise. Nothing helps a president more than the appearance he’s handling an international crisis.”

# 1. He's handling nothing.
# 2. His ratings are going nowhere. The trend is clearly down. Heck even his nonstop appearances on all the TV networks and David Letterman still only gave his ratings a tiny bump, which didn't even last 2 days before it settled back to where it was before his marathon TV appearances. This clown is running out of options.

Well very few presidents go below 50% in their first 9 months, no matter how bad they are, especially if they were elected with a 53% share popular vote like 0bama was.
People don't like to admit to themselves that they were stupid and that they were easily taken in by a snake oil salesmen, and voted for the wrong guy.
It takes some time.
Meanwhile, don't forget that his overall approval has fallen from 65% in January to only 50% today, in just 8 short months. That's a massive fall of 25% in just 8 months. That's bad for 0bama no matter how you look at it.

Well, they all said the same thing about his health care speech and that didn’t really help him all that much.

But with respect to health care with Congress back in session we;ve lost the initiative. Obama can give a speech and everyone will cover it. He can go on TV and everyone will cover it. Everyone’s in DC so there aren’t any opportunities for townhall like events nationwide. When you’re outnumbered 60-40 and 260-175 it’s pretty tough to really stop something.

We need something to regain the initiative and I don’t really see what’s out there that can really reach a mass auidence or shift the coverage like it did in August.

I also think we’ve become distracted. All the focus on ACORN, Van Jones, the school speech, the kids singing, the NEA, the czars is all well and good but it takes away from the main issue. As DeMint said if health care goes down Obama is finished, like Bush was after Social Security. That’s what matters.

Now there are still a whole bunch of folks around who helped stop it in 93 and I just have to trust that thye have something planned or in store.

As for the polls, they all have huge dem ID advantages that helps skew the results. the CBS/NYT poll had them with a 37-22 advantage when last yr in the worst climate for the GOP in a generation it was 39-32. Highly unlikely that 37-22 is anywhere near what the real breakdown is.
