t has long been claimed that Rahm Emanuel wanted to find someone to keep his congressional seat warm while he served as President Obama's chief of staff.

Now, the Chicago Sun-Times has learned that Emanuel wanted then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich to appoint Cook County Commissioner Forrest Claypool to his 5th Congressional District seat.

Claypool would serve one or two terms and then be considered for a place in Obama's Cabinet, according to sources familiar with Emanuel's proposal. That would give Emanuel the option of returning to Congress, where he could vie to become House speaker.

I’ve rarely seen Rahm speaking in public. I caught the end of a Charlie Rose interview of Rahm the other night. Wow. If you look up the definition of “poseur” in the dictionary, it reads “Rahm Emanuel.”

This story should be front page news. Emanuel is up to his eyes in Blagojevich’s corruption.

But, but, but, but, but, but, I thought Forrest Claypool was a Reformer, pure as the wind-driven snow, a mortal enemy of the Machine. They must have the wrong guy. Forrest the Reformer would never, ever, ever even think of a deal to warm Rahm’s seat.

But, unlike the Senate seat, which is filled by an appointment by the governor, a vacant congressional seat must be filled through a special election.

I'm so thrilled to find out that Zer0's main buttboy doesn't know how our system of government works.

Actually, the pretty ballerina (Emanuel majored in dance) never bothered to read the Illinois Election Code: special elections are held to fill offices in individual districts; appointments are made to fill state wide offices when a vacancy occurs.

This seat Il 3rd, is presently occupied by Mike Quigley who won the seat in a special election which had a 20% turnout. Both in the primary and the general. Quigley was opposed by FR Rosanna Pulido (Chicago Lady) who had virtually no support from the Chicago or Cook county Republican organizations.

I agree. Emanuel speaks with Blago Nov. 6-8 about the seat, Nov. 12 Claypool says he’s not going to run for the seat. Sounds to me like someone got hold of Emanuel about the Fitzgerald wiretaps between Nov. 8-12. I think the investigation was blown up when it was to protect the Obama presidency.

After watching the Charlie Rose interview of Emanuel, it looks to me like Rahm has a Napoleonic Complex and covers his insecurity with weird aggressive glares and such when speaking to others.

No wonder Fitgerald went underground again. He accomplished what was neded (get rid of Blago) while keeping Rahm safe.

Pay to play from where I am sitting. I bet Holder is on top of it, ready to launch an investigation. Not.

I wonder if Rahm and Kelly (dead Kelly) were political buds.

from the article:

“..Gibbs was asked whether the possibility of a placeholder ever came up during Obama’s transition period before he was sworn in.

“No, not that — I do not remember any discussion about that,” Gibbs said...”

Note how Gibbs gave himself cover.

Blagojevich book takes aim Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett

from the Gibbs briefing.....

Q The AP is reporting that Governor Blagojevich’s new book says that Rahm Emanuel asked him to see if they could have a placeholder appointed in his House seat so that after two years as White House Chief of Staff he could go back and win the seat again and pursue his ambition to become Speaker. Can you tell us if that’s the case?

MR. GIBBS: I have not — I barely cover with Rahm what’s going to happen the rest of the week. I have not talked to him about that nor have I — I’ve not seen the book by the indicted former governor of Illinois.

Q And is this something that ever came up in the transition that you’re aware of?

MR. GIBBS: No, not that — I do not remember any discussion about that.

BLAGOJEVICH BOOK: Lisa Madigan was his Senate pick. Rahm asked for favor.

Because our media moguls are all on the George Soros train to happyland. I mean, could you imagine if we had a media that would only just report this stuff???? All of America would take care of the rest...not just conservative bloggers!!!

Sadly, most folks are still talking about the season premiere of NCIS...sigh....

It was obvious that Fitz was nothing but a stooge of the Chicago Democrat machine during the Plamegate “investigation.” He gave immunity to the guy he knew had leaked the story, and nailed Scooter Libby on a technicality with the help of a crooked judge. Moreover, no crime was committed in the first place.
