PITTSBURGH — Police fired canisters of pepper spray and smoke at marchers protesting the Group of 20 summit Thursday after anarchists responded to calls to disperse by rolling trash bins and throwing rocks.
The afternoon march turned chaotic at just about the time that President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama arrived for a meeting with leaders of the world's major economies.
The clashes began after hundreds of protesters, many advocating against capitalism, tried to march from an outlying neighborhood toward the convention center where the summit is being held.
The protesters banged on drums and chanted "Ain't no power like the power of the people, 'cause the power of the people don't stop."
The marchers included small groups of self-described anarchists, some wearing dark clothes and bandanas and carrying black flags. Others wore helmets and safety goggles.
One banner read, "No borders, no banks," another, "No hope in capitalism." A few minutes into the march, protesters unfurled a large banner reading "NO BAILOUT NO CAPITALISM" with an encircled "A," a recognized sign of anarchists.

You mean the leftist media isn't telling us the truth???
Well yes, quite a few.
But nooooo, the Pittsburgh PD robocops want to demonstrate their robocop brute strength."
Why do you call the Pittsburgh PD Officers "robocops"? Is it because they are wearing protective gear? Do you really think the reason the Officers in riot gear showed up at an anarchist street protest was to "demonstrate their robocop brute strength"?
Good pictures and and interesting commentary.
>> Exactly. By throwing vegetables you not only break up the riot, but demonstrate your complete contempt for the people protesting. I mean being tear gassed has some status in the anarchist community. Being pelted with rotten fruit, not so much. Besides everything would be bio degradable and quite literally in the case of the watermelons green. By hurling produce at the protesters we are just doing out part to save the planet. <<
Throw Rotten fruit at the hippie commies...???????
Why not buy cheap mickey Dee’s Hamburgers since most of those punks are vegan pukes. I would spend 20 bucks for 20 burgers to throw at them. Maybe throwing hamburgers would make them run away and disperse. We could cook up a large batch of beef and chicken broth (diluted a bit if course) and spray them with super soakers filled with it.
And of course you could get a bunch of lard and fill water balloons with it and toss it at them.
Libturds protesting/fighting libturds.... Does it get any better?
Pass the popcorn...and oh, add more butter this time.
Too bad we couldn’t organize some tea party protesters to act as “Human Shields” by standing in front of businesses or forming human chains around businesses to protect the windows from these commie scum.
I would love to see a hippie freak with a hammer come upon a shop window protected by several of us hand in hand in front of a building with “Don’t Tread on Me” T-shirts.
Of course politely ask the business owner if you can protect their business first so that you are an invited guest of the business. Explain that these G-20 protesters get violent and break things and you are doing your civic duty to help protect private property from these thugs.
Something like this, of course wouldn’t be reported by the OSM, but at least it would be a feel good story for Talk Radio and FOX News.
I don’t what all the comotion they are making is about. They got their man in the WhiteHouse and even as we speak and type he is doing their bidding.
All they need to do is give him a few more weeks and he will accomplish all their goals for them.
Of course; the media will characterize the peaceful, US constitution adhering tea party attendees as "dangerous right-wing radicals" while portraying the G20 protesters as "activists simply trying to have their voice heard".
The media and these commie rioters sicken me. I hope all of these animals feel the sting of rubber bullets, pellets, pepper spray and the business end of a baton before being shipped to cuba in a cargo container.
“Too bad we couldnt organize some tea party protesters to act as Human Shields by standing in front of businesses or forming human chains around businesses to protect the windows from these commie scum....”
I don’t think I could restrain myself....I’d want to knock one into next week.
The irony is a beautiful thing, isn’t it? My daughter and I laugh about that all the time — it’s like cliques in HS who in an attempt to be “different” all go and buy their clothes at the same store in the local mall... Another favorite irony of mine — Showing disdain for Capitalism by PURCHASING a MASS-PRODUCED Che T-Shirt and wearing it everywhere! ROFL
Where were you during the Punk era?
I’d say there’s a good number of Ron Paul followers in the mix.
A few years ago when GWB was President they had one of these summits down here on one of the barrier islands in GA. They did not protest anywhere. Now I do realize they were on an island but in GA you can have a gun and use it to protect your property. I wonder if that is a deterrent to these college idiots? I would guess yes!
I must have missed that. I was probably working. Were they "organized anarchists"?
There were a small number of them that I saw. There were also quite a few people complaining specifically about the Democrats and/or Obama. The crowd was definitely not 100% politically homogeneous; just about every ideology was accounted for at some point. Though from what I saw I'd say general anarcho-leftist followers accounted for probably (goes out on a limb here) ... say 90-95%?
Interesting. How do you recognize a Paulie?
why doesn’t the media call them leftists like they are?
Because if the media is left and the protesters are left, then they aren't left, they're center. You see, we're the extremist Right, the American equivalent of the Taliban. We're the ones the CIA needs to be spying on.
Either that or the Liberal Media is so far in the tank for world socialism it's proving the statement true "The fourth estate has become the fifth column" (statement credited to last night's The Michael Savage program)
