PITTSBURGH — Police fired canisters of pepper spray and smoke at marchers protesting the Group of 20 summit Thursday after anarchists responded to calls to disperse by rolling trash bins and throwing rocks.
The afternoon march turned chaotic at just about the time that President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama arrived for a meeting with leaders of the world's major economies.
The clashes began after hundreds of protesters, many advocating against capitalism, tried to march from an outlying neighborhood toward the convention center where the summit is being held.
The protesters banged on drums and chanted "Ain't no power like the power of the people, 'cause the power of the people don't stop."
The marchers included small groups of self-described anarchists, some wearing dark clothes and bandanas and carrying black flags. Others wore helmets and safety goggles.
One banner read, "No borders, no banks," another, "No hope in capitalism." A few minutes into the march, protesters unfurled a large banner reading "NO BAILOUT NO CAPITALISM" with an encircled "A," a recognized sign of anarchists.

What's with these anarchists 'demonstrating' against 'capitalism'? Are we supposed to oppose or support these thugs anyway?
Demonstrators in Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh, PA.
Pittsburgh PD riot cops (more like robocops).
Good to see a sign demonstrating against G20.
And another one.
The robocops detains a poor protester.
And another one.
Pittsburgh PD robocops walk through a vegetable market.

Watched it on the news all day. There was a large group of Penguins fans chanting “let’s go Pens” carrying a mock Stanley cup. They were louder than the protesters. At $92MM for security, it is costing about $100k per protester and about $20MM for each broken window.

NOW I SEE! These are the way civil “opponents” behave, not like us rude, un-american, mobs. Now I know what to wear and how to be polite at the next townhall meeting...

OK now looking at the picture of the cops in the vegetable market. Am i the only one thinking they should have brought a trebuchet. Come on think of the fun. Hit a hippy with a cantaloupe, win a prize. Or bring in one of those big pumpkin cannons for long range artillery support. Sure they want to establish a socialist utopia, just let them try it with a watermelon up side their heads.

The protesters are getting their voices heard, albeit in a violent manner. Every G20 summit has always attracted ‘anarchist’ thugs like these.
Are you happening to be a Pittsburgh resident?

Hippies aren’t the only protesters present, anarchists are, so why not soak an anarchist with tomato juice?
But nooooo, the Pittsburgh PD robocops want to demonstrate their robocop brute strength.

Did anyone else see the person with the American flag and the ‘Don’t tread on me’ banner beneath run towards the walking hippies? They stopped on the sidewalk and just stood there.

I just love watching the supporters of anarchy...
...wearing matching outfits,
chanting slogans in unison,
carrying identical (black) flags.
Do they realize how foolish their movement is?
To: myknowledge
so why not soak an anarchist with tomato juice?
Exactly. By throwing vegetables you not only break up the riot, but demonstrate your complete contempt for the people protesting. I mean being tear gassed has some status in the anarchist community. Being pelted with rotten fruit, not so much. Besides everything would be bio degradable and quite literally in the case of the watermelons green. By hurling produce at the protesters we are just doing out part to save the planet.
Here commie, come out and play.

Do they realize how foolish their movement is?Pittsburgh closed Pitt, Duquesne, Robert Morris, Point Park, Carleton College, Carnegie Mellon and the Pittsburgh school district. This freed up a sea of more than 100,000 potential protesters within the city limits. They got 800.

It’s so great that the left is non-violent.

"At $92MM for security, it is costing about $100k per protester and about $20MM for each broken window. Looks like an expensive staged show for commie news and socialists to me. They cover this but not a million people peacefully protesting big government. BTW the G20 has socialists in it as well. Mrs. Obama had dinner for their wives. Overlords come in all political persuasions.

And the MSM hasn’t called them an “Angry Mob” nor has Pelosi been critical of them either.
Anyone surprised?

There was a picture of a march Tuesday made up of “students, homeless people (!) and community organizers”.
It didn’t occur to the reporter that these “homless people” had to have been paid by the “community organizers”.
