HONG KONG, China (CNN) Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will be in Hong Kong Wednesday to address about 1,000 investors from around the globe in what is billed as her first speech outside North America.
Palin, who recently stepped down as Alaska's governor, will make the keynote speech on Wednesday to the 16th CLSA Investors' Forum. She will cover governance, economics and current events in the United States and Asia, said Simone Wheeler, head of communications for CLSA.
"What we look to do is invite our keynote speakers who we feel are opinion makers, who are newsworthy and who we feel our clients a very broad international client base would be interested in hearing from," Wheeler said Monday, noting that CLSA is a politically neutral, independent brokerage. "We certainly believe that Sarah Palin will be she has been in the news we believe that she will continue to be a newsmaker in the future and therefore someone we feel that is definitely of interest to fund managers."
Past keynote speakers include former U.S. President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, rocker and activist Bob Geldof, South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former U.S. Federal Reserve chief Alan Greenspan, Wheeler added.

Well said, raptor.
Don’t know about Chinese, but Japanese would likely render it “Arasa-kura.” Sort of like “beef steak” becoming “biffu-takki.”
Will she tell them she can see Hong Kong from Alaska?
No, that’s Tina Fey’s role.
...ok, you represent Tina Fey and SNL...
If Cheney had a high profile he would be defined by them as the “guy who shoots his friends while hunting”.
Palin hasnt shot a friend, but she has downed some moose.
...and keep the damn safety on lol.
I hope she also mentions nuclear energy and other such projects needing attention- as perhaps a bigger priority than re-writing/nationalizing health care, taxing carbon emmissions, and taking over private businesses.
On these issues, the Dems are running around with their pants down, literally and figueratively.
I rather doubt that, but there will be mental cripples that will ask such a stupid question.
Yo, Astronut! What she said was that Alaska is visible from parts of her home state. What George W. Bush said was that either an entity was with us or with the terrorists, not, “Either you’re with us or against us.” Be mindful that the press is out to make any remark from a prominent Republican sound as banal as possible and mammals like yourself make their efforts successful.
Also, for your information, the shortest point of the distance between Alaska and Russia is a mile and a half. I run twice that distance in 28mts. 4 days a week. George W. Bush does it in 20mts. and 30secs. 5 days a week.
Go Sarah!
Also, we have only 1 functioning ICBM defense system. And it is in Alaska. From where, precisely, do we anticipate that the ICBMs might come at us in whatever however implausible scenario?
The site would shoot down any missiles coming from Russia, (the missiles from Russia would come over the Arctic)aimed at the US.
OR, any missiles from Red China or North Korea aimed at Hawaii, or the West Coast of the US.
Seeing as though she'll be appointing the next SecTreas and Fed chair, that's a given.
Get yourself informed.
Tina Fey said see Russia from my house on SNL
The Palin haters will grasp at anything.
Little Diomede Island, Alaska (left), and Big Diomede Island, Russia (right)
Another good point, well stated.
Alaska is closer to Russia than the US.
Excellent. Please keep me updated.
