That has to be one of the all time funniest skits SNL ever made! I think Swayze hosted at least twice and both of those were good shows.

One movie of Swayze's I could watch over and over is that one where he's a cross dresser driving with 2 other cross dressers to a pageant and their car breaks down in Redneck, USA.
The last half gets a little preachy but he did a wonderful job in the film.

Sad news. Great actor and from all accounts a very decent guy.

Dirty dancing and Ghost for women and Roadhouse for men. Don't forget Red Dawn and Next of Kin.

I read the John Jakes novels on North and South. Now you have me very curious about watching the screen version. It isn't the worst, but I did find it disappointing. Too many changes.

Apart from the fact that he was a criminal? :)
But in subsequent interviews Swayze pointed out that many people liked/identified with the Bohdi character.

Im having flashbacks of cruising in my friends Ghia, singing Dirty Dancing songs at the top of my lungs. (No need to discuss what a dork I was!) Can I laugh really hard if I don't call you a dork? :-)

I don’t know why now would be any different than any other day you laugh at my dorkiness!!! I really loved her car! Here, let me add to your ability to make fun of me. Her car was green with pink wheels. There was no heater so we had to wrap ourselves in blankets to go cruising. We’d trip all over the place trying to get out of the car. Ah, memories. She’s the first person I thought of when I heard he’d died.

You’re a nice guy and all but that is NOT happening!! I didn’t get the nickname Sammy for nothing. Think Sammy Hagar hair in the 80’s. That was me.

Agreed. In the book. Orry Main dies and Madaline eventually marries George, who also loses his wife Constance. Those things never happened in the three mini series. But, the min series prompted me to read all the Jakes books. As usual, the book was better. But, I thoroughly enjoyed the mini series. David Caradine’s character (Justin LaMotte) was brilliant. And Leslie Anne Down was absolutely stunningly beautiful. As for Patrick? Well, this is where I totally fell for him.

That would require a small miracle. They’re all in storage and would have to be scanned. I pulled the car pic from my friend’s facebook page. Sorry! Out of luck! ;0)
