Rep. Joe Wilson said Sunday that he will not apologize on the House floor for his outburst during President Obama's health care address, even though Democratic leaders have threatened to formally discipline him if he does not.
Wilson noted that he already apologized directly to the White House after shouting, "You lie," to the president during his Wednesday address to a joint session of Congress. The outburst triggered a political firestorm, but Wilson told "FOX News Sunday" that Democrats are just "playing politics" by trying to drag out the issue and force another apology.
"I've apologized one time. The apology was accepted by the president, the vice president. ... I am not apologizing again," he told "FOX News Sunday."
Wilson said he would "never do something like that again," but continued to defend himself.

Let's wait and see what they dig up. Hopefully he hasn't been "hiking the AT" lately.
True.
Of course, Obama’s associations did not stop him.
really? take a look at yahoo, or google news?
are they talking about illegals and healthcare? are they talking about seniors and cuts to medicare?
No they are talking about Joe Wilson....not everybody gets their news from FOX or freerepublic.

If the leftist, lying Drive-Bys are still more in control than the honest new media, then what's the point? They will then still win the day on government run health care.
However, I think we may be at a tipping point in how Americans get their news. I say we push the real issues, the idiotic health care bill and as Joe Wilson pointed out the lying president. It's our only chance for success.
A girlfriend in Brazil might have stopped him. Guilt by association is a little flimsy. It tells you something, but not enough to get over people believing what they want to believe. And GWB was so universally disliked by the country, it would have taken a lot for the GOP to win. GWB was a terrible president. That's the bottom line.
I thought that was Larry, Curly, and Moe.
It’s not just the media. It’s the schools. It’s the popular culture. It’s corporate culture. Talk radio is a subculture. The mainstream CULTURE is rotten. The culture of our educational institutions. Our entertainment institutions. Our corporations. All rotten.
lol
She’s already crippled his House.gov Web site. Sheesh.

GO JOE! You already apologized! Now they just want to make a spectacle out of you... Don’t give in!
very well put.
This new White House, like wimpy cousins of Stalin, are trying to create these little symbolic mini-show trials, and this is perhaps their first real opportunity.
Wilson will not apologize further, and he probably sees that he shouldnt have at the beginning: his initial apology only gives them reason to believe hes guilty. that he thinks hes guilty, and that hes therefore vulnerable and ripe for further humiliation at their hands. Theyre aware hes getting massive contributions; that must really raise their hackles. Dont know whether this will be dropped eventually, but I kinda sense it will.
It's still tied to the fact that Obama is a liar, and to the fact that illegals will receive a free ride. Those things NEED to stay in the forefront IMHO.
This will backfire on Pelosi. Let her continue to ignore tax-cheat Charlie and hammer on Wilson while so many Americans are awake and paying attention.
Illegals already get a free health care ride, it does not have to be added. That is the 'secret' that everybody is apparently not aware that already takes place 24/7 across this nation.
The correct wording for Wilson’s apology:
“President Obama, I’m sorry, so so sorry, mortified even, and severely despondent, that your are such a bald-faced liar!”
