It’s been raining ..We should get more..I am happy about it!

“God bless you, Tx! I have had tears in my eyes since reading your post.”
I think after 9/11 I had a clearer understanding of why people of my parents generation to this day have such clear memories ow where they were and what they were doing when Kennedy was shot. Or my grandparents generation that remember where they where when Pearl Harbor was attacked.
I’ve said this before but 9/11 was probably one of the defining moments in my life. And it’s a lot of the reason I am where I am today...and why I’m back wearing the uniform full time. Not for any praise or thank you’s...but because of this one heinous act. I’m no different than the people who upon hearing about the attack on Pearl harbor...without being told...showed up at the recruiting stations to enlist.
For those reasons I will never let my kids forget why I’m doing what I’m doing and won’t let them get brainwashed into thinking 9/11 is anything different or less than what it really was...or is today.
You’re absolutely correct, Kathy.
We will never forget.
The question is, “What have we learned from history?”
Time will tell.
God bless you and thank you for this thread.

Good morning, Everyone. Good morning
Thank you, Ma, for preparing the Canteen for todays activities.
The DC Metroland weather report
~ Today.....Cloudy with a few showers. High 68F. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
~ Tonight....Mostly cloudy. Low 59F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
I remember very well where I was. I was across the river from National Airport, not far from the Pentagon. I'm in a small office and didn't have a radio on at the time, so knew nothing about it until my husband called and wanted to know if I was leaving work. I said, "what for?" He told me. I ran out to the catwalk and saw the black smoke rising over the city. I was upset, angry and scared. My son works in town. I found out later he witnessed the plane going down into the Pentagon. It still bothers him.
It still tears at my heart every time I think about it or see pictures of it.
I stayed in the office - the roads were jammed. I wasn't sitting in that mess. We watched the news briefs on the tv in one of the other offices.
I read txradioguy's post and I found this little nugget among Prez. Bush's speech ....
We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.
I think the libs and some in the world have forgotten that.
They should remember that because even though our leaders may change, we do not.
Time for me to make my rounds. But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!
Now remember, the Canteen is ALWAYS
So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS

((HUGS))Good morning, Beach. How’s it going?
Morning, neighbor.
All is well. Reading up on the National Tea Party agenda and catching up on pings.
Thanks for the time line. It’s always good to be able to follow the events of that day, even eight years later.
Howz things with you? Are you going to be in DC tomorrow?
Good morning and (((HUGS))) EG. It’s going ok. Looking forward to when I can clock out and go home. It’s a dreary day, perfect for staying in bed and watching old movies or reading.

Yoo Hoot! Pro? Are you awake, yet?
Good morning, night owls
