Specter wants Wilson censured
Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Penn.), who's looked at POTUS from both sides now, was just on the Bill Press radio show suggesting the South Carolina firebrand Joe Wilson be censured for his heckle heard round the world.
Said the Republican-turned-Dem:
"He apologized immediately afterward but I don't think that’s adequate... If an apology is the consequence of an outburst I think we can expect more – that’s not a sufficient penalty that’s not a sufficient price to pay.. I'm not saying the guy should be kicked out of the House… But there ought to be some rebuke, reprimand, censure -- something that will discourage that kind of conduct in the future. If you do that to the President, it's open season."
Earlier on his show, Press spoke with House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC), who said Wilson should "man up" and apologize directly to Obama -- or that Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) should mea culpa the White House on his behalf.
Specter should apologize for ripping off Republicans for all those years he pretended to be one of us... And he should return all campaign contributions from conservatives during the years he was siding with dems against us.
Why?

Mr. Chairman, there are some of us who remember this world in the 1930s, when Hitler suspended the Bundestag to promulgate conservative ideology and not let people speak. It is a shame that the Republicans in the House, Mr. Chairman, have taken up that same ideology and are denying a chance for debate and open discussion of a budget. It does smack of fascism; and it is too bad, because the American people will recognize that and understand that in a free economy, and in a free country that created programs like Social Security and Medicare and special education and aid for dependent children and aid for people who are unable to care for themselves, for the disabled, that to deny them care is obscene.

The members of one body have ZERO say as to what occurs in the other, re: discipline, rules, etal. Chuck off, Specter.
Did Specter suggest similar measures for the people who boo’d the President (GWB43) from what was then his own party?
I would frame the newspaper articles and hang them on my wall as a badge of honor that I called the zero a liar, and got censured for it.
We are moving toward fascism and it’s being enabled by unhealthy congressional protocols that treat the president like a king. We need more of a parliamentary system where the president is held publickly accountable for his actions and policies. If we had a weekly “Question Time” like the British system, the birth certificate problem would have been taken care of instantly and 0 would have had more trouble telling lies like we heard last night.
Our Constitution is the best document on the planet, but our political system is one of the worst.
He should of done exactly what Wayne La’Perrer did when confronted by Clinton... GO ON THE ATTACK FURTHER!
The yelling gave him a forum and a mic, by apologizing he has squandered a great opportunity.

Whether or not Wilson was correct or incorrect is irrelevant -- he will be punished under the provision in Article I, Section 5, "disorderly behavior" in the Constitution. And they WILL punish him, his GOP fellows will go right along with whatever they decide, comity too much in their minds. Aggravating.
