No, the article is BS made to look like Laura Bush praised Obama. I listened to the interview and she does no such thing.

Is it not astonishing, Jedidah, that the very same freepers who are exploiting the opportunity to bash a Bush - any Bush - on this thread while obviously having never bothered to verify for themselves what Mrs. Bush actually said, that the news organization characterising Mrs. Bush's interview on foreign soil might have had its own agenda here in writing that headline?

CNN , and CNN's notoriously phony & misleading headlines, are both miraculously now to be considered the unimpeachable source of objective truth covering the Bushes (and by extension conveniently promoting Obama with that headline) on FR. Who'd a thunk?

Pathetic, but not at all surprising, sadly. Instead of "All the news that's fit to print", the operating bywords here seem to be "All the news that fits our preconceived biases."

Of course, to many of the people on this thread CNN never gets the story right when it's shamelessly showing its bias while promoting Obama's popularity. It's only when they do so while simultaneously mischaracterising what a member of the Bush family says in the service of promoting Obama's messaiah -hood, one must conclude.

Because in that case, all of a sudden,lo & behold, whatever the ultraliberal CNN slaps a phony headline onto is instantly considered gospel which doesn't need any further verification from 'conservatives'. Go figure.

“He put incompetents in office :

Chrissie Whitman as head of the EPA
Tom Kean as head of the 9/11 Commission
Alberto Gonzales to replace Ashcroft who was a good Attorney General
He made Tom “The Meathead” Ridge head of Homeland Security
He put an unqualified friend in as head of FEMA
He CREATED an unnecessary department which could later be abused by an administration like this one - Homeland Security
He tried to support that idiotic deal to have some Arab State run port security
He got us embroiled in two no-win nation building experiments in Afghanistan and Iraq”

He W had more Czars than the Kenyan Commie does.

The name? Your point being...? She was in France? So that makes her stupid remarks more palatable? I would say far less...

She also said this:

“Multiple sources have indicated that the two men parted ways on several issues in the last years of their administration, including Bush’s refusal to offer a pardon for former top Cheney aide Lewis “Scooter” Libby.”

Precisely another reason why Consevatives have parted ways with Jorge.

I’m starting to like Laura Bush about as much as I like George W. Bush.

Careful. Being blown about by every wind of the media and all is the first requirement for being a useful idiot.

"To borrow the words of a certain and esteemed fellow FReeper..."

Me? Esteemed? *Blush

I'll speak to Laurie Bush. She may seem great when compared to Arms Robinson Obama but the only reason she's ever pretended to be a Republican is because she married one. In her heart she's always been the democrat Laura Welch that first caught Georgie's fancy. She may have voted for Bush's fellow RINO McCain but it wouldn't shock me at all if she voted for Obama in secret.

All her public statements indicate she was a bad influence on her husband as all liberal wives are.

Her ill-advised, ignorant pro-bama comments are hardly surprising considering what she holds as the standard for a good President (her hubby).

I'm glad that the Bush family is not criticizing Obama. They lack the credibility to do so and it would be counter-productive if they did.

I really don’t understand.

Did Bess Truman speak glowingly of Eisenhower? Did Lady Bird defend Nixon? Has Rosalynn Carter come to the defense of any Republican successors?

Have any Democrat first ladies rebuked the very voters who got them and their husbands into the White House?

Laura defends her own husband but rebukes his supporters. I don’t think that’s very classy at all.

He had too many, but I doubt if his Kremlin matched Obama’s and Obama is still naming them.

I hope the Bushes all go somewhere a lot hotter than Texas and stay out of American politics.

Barbara Bush is also a lib.

No Bush didn’t hate America.

The Obamamessiah does.

He said Americans are too succesful, too well fed, too warm in winter and too cool in summer and consume too much energy (as he turned up the thermostat in the White House)!

Yet this clown was elected!!!

Incredible.
