PARIS, France (CNN) -- Former first lady Laura Bush praised the performance of her husband's successor Monday, breaking with many Republicans in telling CNN that she thinks President Obama is doing a good job under tough circumstances.

How about the truth?
Did the media ever bother to ask her about BDS sufferers?
Time-Lies-CNN can go screw. I’ll continue my boycott of Time-Warner.
Thanks for your post. Mrs. Bush has shown again and again that she is a decent human being. She has held her tongue millions of times rather than saying anything unkind about another person. That is not typical liberal behavior.
Re: “Has she dyed her hair blonde?”

I dunno — has she? Have not seen a pic —
Whatever, she needs to shut up now — thanks for your service Laura, now please be quiet and go away.
Laura, you and your miserable husband are the reason the most Socialist member of the Senate was elected to the highest office in the land.
Please go away!
Whoever runs America, we’ll all be fine attitude is a load of crap! The Bush family already has its millions. It’s the rest of us who get stuck with the tab! Sorry Laura, you don’t have a clue!
What has she been smoking? Sorry, I had a ton of respect for her but is she losing it bigtime?
Uh, "socialism" is not a pejorative term, it's a specific political/economic philosophy with fairly well-defined characteristics, and to my knowledge Obama has never even repudiated the label. If Laura Bush or anyone else wants to dispute that description, all they have to do is show how the components of his agenda are inconsistent with socialism.

Very bad timing since a Communist just resigned from the Administration and there are more.
Better to say nothing then to come out like this.
I don’t remember Barbara Bush saying nice things about Clinton. In fact at one of the events when he sat next her granddaughter, I thought she was going to clobber him.
Good luck with that Laura.
You just have to love and respect Sara. Plus she is not to hard on the eyes either. Isn’t funny how all the “smart guys” are afraid to take on Obama, but poor “dumb” Sara is ripping him a new one, almost all by herself. Makes you wonder who the “smart” one really is.
Thank you for the kind word.
The ignorance on this thread is just astounding. These people have obviously not even listened to the interview.
The brainless opinions in most of these posts are what give conservatism a bad name.
“Laura Bush is a lady of true dignity and civility.”
True. But beyond that, she obviously doesn’t have a clue about the danger Obama is putting our country in.
Yes, she is a lady and has class - two attributes not seen in the White House since January.
However, Obama and his cohorts have said some very, very nasty things about her husband.
In this case I would prefer she just graciously decline to comment.
Once a RINO and useful idiot, always a Rino and.........
Did you watch the interview?
Laura did not say nice things about Obama. She said tepid and innocuous things, such as “Americans should respect the office.” She avoided a gotcha when the interviewer asked if she thought Obama was a socialist by saying that she didn’t know.
She defended Cheney and his outspokenness. She said the problem with the Obama talk to schoolchildren was primarily in the curriculum that was meant to go with it (which is absolutely true). She represented us well while on an overseas trip.
You think she should say nothing? She pretty much did.
Laura Bush is nobody. She was never elected to anything. Rather than running around praising a Communist would-be dictator, she should shut her pie-hole and disappear. There’s no such thing as “bi-partisanship” with Communist Fascist Bolshevik baby-murderers.
Oh, yeah. Laura Bush is FOR murdering babies.
