GWB was a disaster as president. I am now convinced, and I never thought I would conclude this, that GWB was worse than Clinton. In fact, Clinton is looking good now.
Not only didn't Bush secure the borders, but he left Afghanistan/Pakistan a mess too. Remember all that crap about invading Iraq to win the WOT? Afghanistan was the one job he was supposed to do as president and he screwed that up too (like Iraq before the surge and the economy and immigration,....)).
This is why I am wary of a Republican in power again. Why do we need republicans in power f...g everything up when democrats can do it AND they get the blame ? And forget most of talk radio if it ever a republican wins again, they are butt kissers.
It's nice now, democrats screw up and get the blame and everyone wants to call themselves conservative now.
Presuming that Laura, bless her heart, is sharing her husband's opinion, it explains a lot.
Evidently, GWB and his cohort in the Republican Party has always assumed that Democrats haven't changed since the fifties. They believed the US was still in "we might differ on the details, but both parties want what's best for America" and "politics stop at the water's edge" mode.
Alas, he didn't learn from his experience in Washington -- and he should've.

My dad always told me that if I can’t say something true, keep my mouth shut.
I am afraid there will be no such words for patriots Mrs. Bush, GW, or any other Bush, Clinton, Carter, Obama, etc. The simple reason is that they are all members of the same club. And that is the club that intends to see to it that America is no more. Global elitests don't suffer patriots very well.

In 2004, I voted for the Constitution Party presidential candidate, Michael Peroutka, because Bush was too liberal and because I knew that Kerry would win easily win my state, Illinois. I agree with Bush about Iraq, but his budgets increased spending, too much, and he wanted to give amnesty to illegal aliens.
W did nothing right the Tax cuts were a covert payoff, he could have done an EO on the drilling and the carping over the Iraq Constitution ENOUGH !!!! Laura Bush should’ve simply said “I won’t comment on the current administration, period.”
He did take out the Taliban and keep us safe from future attacks. He did take out a dangerous lunatic in Iraq which was good.
But he screwed up a lot of other things in a way that indicates he is more of a Democrat than a conservative Republican.
He did NOTHING to stop the invasion of our borders by illegal aliens and sucked up to the Mexican government at every opportunity.
He did cut taxes, but raised domestic spending.
He inaugurated the bail out of failed corporations
He put incompetents in office :
Chrissie Whitman as head of the EPA
Tom Kean as head of the 9/11 Commission
Alberto Gonzales to replace Ashcroft who was a good Attorney General
He made Tom “The Meathead” Ridge head of Homeland Security
He put an unqualified friend in as head of FEMA
He CREATED an unnecessary department which could later be abused by an administration like this one - Homeland Security
He tried to support that idiotic deal to have some Arab State run port security
He got us embroiled in two no-win nation building experiments in Afghanistan and Iraq
So what do we have now with a DEMOCRAT in power??
A HOST incompetent boobs as heads of the various Departments
A President who wants to tax us even more - and in many more ways.
Over thirty “czars” who intrude in every aspect of our public and private lives, selected with no Congressional oversight or inquiry into their backgrounds or qualifications
Bail out programs that exceed many times over what Bush had spent
A three trillion dollar “Stimulus Bill” which did nothing except paid Democrat pockets
A man who has disgraced America time and again overseas
A President who support Communist Dictators
An administration which is determined to euthanize elderly and disabled Americans and provide health benefits they paid for to illegal aliens who never paid anything.
An Administration which seeks to undermine the First and Second Amendments and never read the Tenth
A Muslim
A racist
What we need is a group of conservatives to actively take over the GOP from within and expel the Chrissie Whitmans, the Tom Keans, the Lindsey Grahams, the Olympia Snowes, the Susan Collinses, the Arlen Spectors, the John McCains and put real Republican Conservatives back in control of the party as under Ronald Reagan.
