World's CLIMATE could COOL FIRST, WARM LATER ..... maybe
NewScientist ^ | Sept 2009 | Fred Pearce,

Posted on 09/09/2009 9:15:29 AM PDT by rface

Forecasts of climate change are about to go seriously out of kilter. One of the world's top climate modellers said Thursday we could be about to enter one or even two decades during which temperatures cool.

"People will say this is global warming disappearing," he told more than 1500 of the world's top climate scientists gathering in Geneva at the UN's World Climate Conference.

"I am not one of the sceptics," insisted Mojib Latif of the Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences at Kiel University, Germany. "However, we have to ask the nasty questions ourselves or other people will do it."

Few climate scientists go as far as Latif, an author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. But more and more agree that the short-term prognosis for climate change is much less certain than once thought.

"I am not one of the sceptics," insisted Mojib Latif ....[ he needs to INSIST - or he will be dis-owned by the popular group of "scientists"....and that would hurt his social status .....

Did their models see the cooling that has happened the last ten years?

I didn’t think so.

What temperature should the Earth be in the first place? I have total control of the temperature inside my house. 3 people live in it. Yet, I can’t get a consensus whenever it comes time to adjust the thermostat.

Hodar’s weather forecast:

Gradually cooling, with shorter days through February, then a warming trend will begin with the days gradually getting longer with tempertures peaking in July-September, then cooling again with days getting shorter again ...

Thank you, thank you - I’ll be here all week. Please tip your waitresses and bartenders ...

Science is falsifiable. And theories whose predictions fail are thereby falsified. To fail to recognize and admit that any significant cooling of the Earth's temparature over any significant period of time (and a decade more than qualifies, as does the magnitude of the decline in temperature over that period) disqualifies you as a scientist.

LOL! Liberal Junk Scientits, are becoming laughstocks with their continuous stream of disproven crap statistics. Anyone who admits to believing these discredited con men, is admitting they are P.T.Barnum league, gullible dumbasses!

Listening to these Tards who think they are just so clever...It’s hard not to laugh at them. It’s a thing of humor.

Apparently they are coming to the conclusion that our Man Made Global Warming solutions are working. Therefore we should increase our efforts and bring the temperature back down to where it should be.

I doubt any of these folks are going to say, “Oops. I guess it has been part of a normal cycle after all.”

What temperature should the Earth be in the first place?

A simple question no one in the warming cult can answer.

All they know is taxes and government control will make everything alright.

A blanket for the wife, a fan for my daughter and a lock on the T-stat makes for a happy me. My son is 3 and doesn't care what the temperature is or even if there is a monsoon. He's content to play the day away. The only climate he ever comments on is the temperature of the bathwater.

:o)

Climate is what we expect,
weather is what we get.

Robert Heinlein sums it up in above quote.

Based on a very cool summer, this Indiana resident is doing a stout tune-up on his snowblower and is happy that nat gas prices are way down.

“People will say this is global warming disappearing,...”

People will say it, and they might be right for one decade, two decades, one century, two centuries, and maybe two Millennia, but it may or may not start warming again in the future.

This is what passes for science when it comes to global warming.

Well, on the one hand, we have just 10 years left before Warming reaches a crisis point and we are all doomed.

On the other hand, we may have a few decades of cooling but THEN warming reaches a crisis point and we are all doomed.

global warming ping

A few decades (heck, years) of warm weather would surely be cited as evidence for global warming, but decades of cool weather will not be considered evidence against GW.

Maybe, just maybe, things could get all screwed up and it could cool while it warms and then think of the mess we'd be in. Things would be disastrously "changeless" and then we'd have unchanging climate change. How the hell would we get government to fix that?

One thing's for sure, taxes would have to go up.

Here's my three questions:

1. Many times in the past the Earth has been much warmer and much cooler than it is today. What is the appropriate or normal temperature of the Earth and how do you know?

2. There have been dozens of times in the past few hundred thousand years when there has been as much as a mile of ice over what is now Central Park in New York. Was the global warming that melted that ice a good thing or a bad thing and why?

3. Mars, Venus and the moon and other solar system bodies for which we have baseline information are also warming. Doesn’t it make sense that whatever is warming them is what is warming the Earth instead of human activity?
