>> It’s very unfortunate that JR. Hastert has been anointed for that seat. <<

Actually, that's not set in stone. It's now been confirmed that State Senator Randy Hultgren is going to run for Congess. I haven't posted a thread about it yet because he hasn't officially kicked off his campaign yet.

Needless to say, this totally changes the dynamics of the race. For those outside Illinois, it would be like Gov. Hoeven confirming he's running for Senator in N.D. Hultgren won the nod for Roskam's senate seat when Roskam moved up to Congress, and Hultgren has been a formidable conservative leader (yes, he was one of the state senators who endorsed Lauzen over Oberweis during the last primary... though just about everyone did besides Hastert himself) He is undoubtedly the strongest and most qualified candidate to take on Bill Foster and I'm sure Hastert's people know it. (even ignoring the fact Ethan's dad was partly to blame for this seat going RAT, if we judge Ethan on his own right it's clear nobody would consider an obscure wet behind the ears 30-something Chicago lawyer as a credible candidate if his last name weren't "Hastert")

Dennis Hastert lost a lot of clout with the party bigwigs anyway, considering the way he stumbled off the public stage in his last two terms, and I'm not too sure even the NRCC is going to go along with the attempt to anoint his son. Now if we can just get the three unknowns (Jeff Danklefsen, Mark Vargas, and Bill Cross) who jumped in the race to "stop Hastert" to unite behind Hultgren, we'll be all set.

Of course Lauzen would be my first choice, but he's still recovering from 2008 and probably correct sees that it is too soon to run for a higher office again. Hultgren is the next best thing, and stands an excellent chance of taking out Bill Foster.

FYI, his state senate page is here:

“Hultgren won the nod for Roskam’s senate seat when Roskam moved up to Congress”

Hultgren sounds promising, but does he live in the district?

Good question. My tentative guess is "yes" but I can't confirm it. Hultgren lives in Winfield, IL. I looked up their zipcode (60190) and parts of it are in both Roskam and Foster's district (mostly in Foster's). Hultgren's 48th State Senate district contains large parts of both federal districts.

I'll have a definitive answer when he officially kicks off his campaign.

“outed”?
Who cares?
This woman is on the intelligence committee and she couldn’t figure out she was being set up?

Seems to be quite an idiot.

Change my #163 to a definite yes. I looked up Hultgren's home address from his 2008 filing with the Illinois State Board of Elections. Plugged that address into a “Who's my representative?” search and his Congressman is listed as Bill Foster, 14th Congressional District.

I agree with everything you wrote. I was being sarcastic when I feigned to have pity on Schakowsky.

Good.

Hultgren is rated 87.5 lifetime by the United Republican Fund.

It cost us dearly, all of Saddams loyalists were in the North near Tikrit, there were all set to engage us believing the hogwash from Saddam that they would squash us like bugs, but after three days, they saw what was happening and took off thier uniforms and merely re-joined society, mostly bathests who then did lots of damage via roadside bombs and all kinds of crap, all of those guys would have got whacked had we came in from the North, that still ticks me off to this day ...

About half of Hultgren’s state senate district is in the 14th Congressional District. Since he’s conservative, I hope that he’ll get about 2/3 of the primary vote.

How so? Because she doesn’t fit your preconceived notions about how dangerous the parastate of Turkey really is?

How nice of you to school me as to what my “Preconceived notions” should or should not be. Next time I’ll consult you before I decide how to think.

This Jan Schakowsky -— it is her, and that is the problem. She is the chair of the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, which is investigating the CIA!

Another bought and paid for Turk slime is Silvestre Reyes Chair of the House Intelligence Committee.

This is the kind of filth that is running our country - and the GOP is not immune...

Where are the “Huma with child” photos?

Shouldn’t she be well along now?

“Technically I think both Senators and Representatives are Congresspeople.”

Big Media was calling someone who was neither a Senator nor a Representative a Congressman last week, can’t remember the exact case or who. Perhaps someone else can.
