DISAPPOINTMENTS
Disappointments come to all of us; and the more I see of life, the more convinced I am that one of the most important lessons anyone can learn is how to handle these disappointments. One of the great disappointments in my youth happened during my sophomore year in high school when I was running for class president.
The class elected a cute brunette cheerleader. Another popular girl, another of the cheerleaders, came in second. And I trailed the field with only four votes. That was quite a blow to a cocky young boy to be defeated by not one, but two good looking cheerleaders. I felt that all my friends had deserted me.
It is sometimes hard to see God's hand in things. We may not understand why things happen the way they do. But God has a way of working through things, and fashioning our disappointments into something worthwhile. The girl who defeated me in the class election later became my wife!
Prayer: O God, make us aware of your presence day by day. Help us be assured that all our disappointments can be turned over to you, and our lives can be strengthened and renewed. Amen.

The Mayor will be on Fox And Friends any minute to talk about Congressman Louise Slaughter’s refusal to have a town hall meeting because she doesn’t want “those people” (her constituents) to have a voice.
Stay tuned to Fox News.

I just saw it and you did a wonderful job, Rus! That congresswoman ought to be ashamed of herself, saying that she wouldn’t meet with “those people”!!! THOSE PEOPLE are folks that she is SUPPOSED to represent! Insane, indeed, in Albany..and in DC!
Two thumbs up for The Mayor!

Kathy,
Be careful up there in Alaska. I understand there's a 127 pound man-eating cabbage on the loose.
