green vegetable ping
I eat broccoli and cabbage 3-5 times per week. Maybe I should increase this but I might get sick of these excellent foods if I have them too often.
People who take blood thinners are encouraged to eat dark leafy veggies. Helps to enhance coagulation and the effect is very fast.
Popeye is right!
“the importance of eating five-a-day...”
Five what? Pounds? Florets? Truckloads?
These food recommendations drive me batty. Most don’t say in what quantities to eat something. And what’s a serving?
On a good day I can eat a half bag of chips. On a normal day not so much. Which is a proper serving?
Meanwhile I’ll work in the broccoli between the fudge and Jack Daniels. My food pyramid is very simple.
....and protects the children, the planet, your current healthcare plan and doctor, along with protecting us from evil banks, car companies.....
There’s also the little unmentioned fact that a cup of broccoli has as much Vitamin C as an orange.
Thanks for the posting.
Do they tell you how much broccoli you have to eat per day compared to your body weight to get any results?
If it’s a bushel a day, you’d be better off dead.
Would you like Hollandaise with that?
My Doctor said I should eat things that have bright colors like Green,Red and Yellow, so I went home and bought a bag of M&M’s.
The article sez eating broccoli protects the lining of arteries, presumably prolonging life, yet avowed broccoli hater George H.W. Bush seems deathproof.
***Scientists have discovered that a component of the superfood can protect arteries from furring which can block blood flow and lead to angina, heart attack and stroke. ..**
****...New tests suggest that a chemical found in vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower can boost a natural defence mechanism to protect against the damage. ***
If you are on blood thinners, and have an artificial heart valve or have certain other heart problems you are not supposed to eat these items as they are high in Vitamin K and cause clotting of the blood which can cause angina, heart attacks and strokes. Cheetos is also high invitamin K.
Hmmm, I’m eating broccoli as I read the thread.
Yum, FReepers have the best recipes!
