Einstein’s God
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. —Psalm 19:1

When the great physicist Albert Einstein was asked if he believed in God, he responded: “We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. . . . That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human beings toward God. We see the universe marvelously arranged and obeying certain laws but only dimly understand these laws.” Although Einstein marveled at the design he saw in nature, he did not believe in a personal Creator.

The psalmist shared Einstein’s sense of awe about nature but took the next step and believed in the Designer behind the design: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork” (Ps. 19:1).

The wonder we feel as we behold our universe should serve as a road sign pointing to the One who created it. The Scriptures tell us, “All things were made through [Christ], and without Him nothing was made that was made” (John 1:3).

Are you struggling in your beliefs? Look up at the stars tonight. In the sky is crafted an amazing road sign pointing to the Designer behind the design.

God wrote His autograph
Upon the sky last night,
In the stars I never saw
A signature so bright! —Schoeberlein

Creation’s design points to the Master Designer.

Good evening, Kathy! Good evening, all!

Well, summer vacation is now over.
Actually, I don't go back until Tuesday ...

... but my wife is off from work every day until then,
so let me tell ya, it won't be no vacation!

Went out to Carmine's on W 44 St for dinner to celebrate my daughter's birthday (sigh, a lib like her mother). Standing outside, some guy says loud in my ear, "Where is this place?"
I turn around, it was some idiot on a cell phone looking for something.
I turned back to my group and my wife and brother-in-law are looking. "Isn't that guy an actor?" "He was in thirtysomething."
Whatever. This is why I never spot famous people in NYC. I'm oblivious to them.

email from my brother

Ole was walking home late at night, through the park, and sees a woman in the shadows.

"Twenty dollars," she whispers.

He's never been with a hooker before, so he figures, "what the hell, it's only twenty bucks.."

So they hide in the bushes and are going at it for a minute when all of a sudden a light flashes on them. It's a police officer.

"What's going on here people?" asks the officer..

"I'm making luff to my wife," Ole answers indignantly.

"Oh, I'm sorry" says the cop. "I didn't know."

"Vell," Ole says , "I didn't either until you flashed that damn light in her face."

Good morning, Everyone. Good morning

Thank you, Ma, for preparing the Canteen for today’s activities.

The DC Metroland weather report

~ Today.....Partly to Mostly Sunny HIGHS: 78 - 83 WINDS: N 5 - 10

~ Tonight....Clear to Partly Cloudy Pleasant LOWS: 52 - 62 WINDS: N - 5

This is going to be a quick visit. I'm off today and have a short list of things to do.

But, you know I had to come in and say hello to our Military, Allies, and their families AND the Canteeners before going onto other things.

I know we're not suppose to talk politics at the Canteen, so I'll do it and run.

Just wanted to say KUDOs to all those schools who have decided not to allow their students to watch Obama's message. Many are upset that he is trying to engage the kids in helping him get his healthcare agenda through.

Ok, said it now I'll....

... make my rounds. And, get....But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!

Now remember, the Canteen is ALWAYS

So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM

DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH:

Don’t tell me your age; you’d probably lie anyway-but the Hershey Man will know!

This is pretty neat.

DON’T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read .
Be sure you don’t read the bottom until you’ve worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it’s fun.

1.. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 — I’ll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven’t, add 1758.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

The first digit of this was your original number (i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.
