GROVE--Right-thinking Americans can only hope the country will survive the next 16 months of the Obama administration until the Republicans can regain control of Congress, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe said Wednesday.
“I never dreamed I would see an administration try to disavow all the things that have made this country different from all others,” Inhofe told more than 300 people at a town hall meeting in the Grove Community Center.
“I have never seen so many things happening at one time so disheartening to America.” Inhofe found a highly receptive audience. Many wore T-shirts of a local organization called Get America Back. Its Web site promises “a plan to eliminate the socialist government and return Americas (sic) freedoms.”
The “plan” is a link to a YouTube video by Lloyd Marcus, a Florida artist and singer making the circuit of anti-Obama “Tea Party” rallies.
Wednesday’s audience was similar to those at town hall meetings throughout northeastern Oklahoma in recent weeks. Concerns centered on the administration and Democratic-controlled Congress.
Inhofe gave his constituents plenty to worry about.
“Every institution that has made this country the greatest nation in the world is under attack,” he said at the end of the 75-minute session.
During those 75 minutes, Inhofe said President Barack Obama is disarming the military, is destroying everything good about America and is determined to turn foreign terrorists loose on U.S. soil.
The good news, he said, is that he does not think the Democratic leadership can push through health-care reform or the more controversial parts of its energy bill.
He also said he continues to be proven correct in his claim that global climate change is a hoax.

I spoke shortly after the retired police man from NYC who was ejected the day before by Carol Shea Porter. There were paid activist (possibly union) thugs outside the hall dressed in SCREAM masks and gowns screaming "Stop Republican Scare Tactics". Needless to say, I let them, congress and Obama have it with both barrels.

Inhofe has been a very vocal critic of the global warming hoax for a long time. I have great respect for him.

Herein lies the core problem with the media. They make stuff up.
The Tea Parties are not "anti-Obama" in any way, shape, or fashion. They are anti-government-expansion. Obama happens to be the catalyst, but not the focus of the protests.
Americans are beginning to see Obama’s blood in the water...and are amassing for an attack!

Inhofe was absolutely right on in everything he said. But the Tulsa World continues to treat him like he’s an escapee from a mental institution. Of course, that’s what they think of all of us who don’t agree with their views.
Stuff like this makes me want to become an honorary citizen of Oklahoma just for their two senators.

Yes James- you’re right- it IS a hoax- so WHY is it goign htrough anyways? WHY aren’t there more republicans demanding that the TRUTH be presented to hte public, and that congress STOP pushing for regulations? WHY are republicans compromising on the issue? It seems the democrats can manage to get their global warmign propoganda televised constantly, but the republicans can’t get coutner evidence proving global warmign is NOT man made publicised? Its also apparent that many republicans are compromising because they too want a slice of hte pie- Dirty rotton politics per usual!

Remember the infamous meeting when then-Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson had the heads of 9 major banks come down to Washington? It was then that he made them the offer they couldn't refuse. Take TARP cash, or else!
Now Judicial Watch -- the conservative watchdog organization which was famous for giving the Clinton administration fits -- has uncovered secret documents from that meeting via the FOIA.
A few of them are really quite stunning. The first 1-pager is Paulson's talking points for the bank. It basically confirms that he put a gun to all their heads. It says they must agree to take their cash, and that if they protested, then each bank's regulator would force them to take it anyway.
The next document is perhaps even more mindblowing. It's the one-page agreement whereby each CEO agreed to let the government make its preferred stock injeciton.
