If the White House is trying to figure how it lost control of the debate over healthcare in August, it could take a look at Glenn Beck’s television and radio ratings. The conservative talk radio host, who also has an hourly slot on Fox News every day, has seen his viewer numbers soar even as opponents have pressed companies to withdraw advertising from the show.

I was listening to Glenn’s show a couple of weeks ago and he mentioned a prayer session he had just had at his church. His resolute tone that day sounded to me like Martin Luther King when King said: "Because I've been to the mountaintop, and I don't mind, like anybody I would like to live--a long life--longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now, I just want to do God's will, And he's allowed me to go up the mountain, And I've looked over. And I have seen the Promised Land. And I may not get there with you; I want you to know, tonight, yes, that we as a people will get to the Promised Land! So I'm happy tonight! I'm not worried about anything! I'm not fearing any man! Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord!”

I sensed this same kind of foreshadowing of martyrdom In Glenn’s voice that day.

I prey it doesn't happen as Glenn fearlessly speaks for us in a very dangerous time!

There have been a number of laws put into place recently under Bush and Zero that pretty much give the President complete control over the country if an “emergency” arises, so Beck isn’t at all off base on that one.

Well, obama has the FCC stacked so conservative radio programs can essentially be eliminated without having to get his hands, or those of his legislators dirtied.

I wonder how many “czars” or staff members are currently working on a plan to silence conservative television programs? I suspect it will come under the guise of a “crisis”, the same vague rationale that will be employed when the current administration takes control of the internet.

I just finished rereading Orwell's “1984” and I encourage all those for whom I have the deepest respect to do so. I read nearly all of the book in two evenings and had to put it down for a week before I could finish it. It was truly like reading the “socialist healthcare bill” or listening to strategies being implemented by obama and the left.

God help us save our Country.
