A school principal has apologized for showing a video at an assembly that a politically conservative group leader is calling "radical, leftist propaganda."
Children at Eagle Bay Elementary School in Farmington were shown a short video called "I pledge" on Aug. 28. The video opens with an image of President Barack Obama and part of a speech in which he says, "Let us summon a new spirit of patriotism, of responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other." The video then features celebrities making pledges about how they will help the president and the world -- and that's where some say the problem lies.

It is disturbing that anyone would think it should be shown.
But, hey... there are a lot of loony-tune liberals out there, mostly in media, education and labor unions.

Yes? 37.5 %
No 62.5 %
How dare they show this propaganda to any child or teenager!
This video makes me want to vomit.
My favorite part is “I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama.”
EXCUSE ME? You work for us, Mr. President, not the other way around.
Guess the lessons on kneeling and touching the forelock come next.
That's the problem — everything is backwards. The press is suppose to be watchdogs not lapdogs, you don't spend billions during a recession, substance — a record of accomplishments — should beat style, charisma and lofty speeches rather than the opposite, etc.
All this is just in time for the new school year!
Disgusting.
Parents, get your children out of the government schools.
The scumbags have taken over.
I pledge to support the zot of your choice,
and the FReepublic for which it stands.

Seriously, all partisanship aside...that thing struck me as positively Orwellian. All it needed was an exhortation to increase production of potatoes at Collective Farm #37. (Busy hands and full bellies, comrade!)
Yeesh.
Not to Obama or any president.
Good acts and caring for others and the land is something they should be taught at home, in church, or by family. Morals are learned at home and at church and by example.
Morals cannot be dictated.
I pledge not to let Obama dictate how I feel or what I want to do for others or how my children or grandchildren feel. I pledge to teach them myself.
Yes; and an escapable fact; we know; for Obama,Inc.
You work for us, Mr.President; You work for us, Mr. President; You work for us, Mr. President. . .
Do we need to make this a 'mantra' or what? The absolute continuum of conceit being played out by this power-mongering 'President-who-would-be-king' should have EVERY citizent by now; wide/wide awake! Eyes wide shut made a thing of the past.
Lines need to be drawn; Obama cannot continue to effortlessly violate our Constitution and our citizenry! Am sure; his address to 'nations school children' on Sept. 8; another 'unprecedented occasion' inflicted upon us; will not be a one-time event.
Would bet; in time; after we are told that Obama's 'educational reach out' has had a such a positive impact on our youth. . .we will find that he has inserted himself into America's 'classroom' on a regular basis.
STOP; keep your children home next week; and let schools know; you do not intend to be exposed to this propagandizing Obama effort. And yes; tell these schools; School Boards. . .P.T.O.'s; that this propagandizing video needs to be returned to the White House; stamped 'Not Deliverable'.
According to Drudge Obama will be addressing all the school students on Sept 8.
I tried to pull up the speech on line but Firefox wouldn’t display it properly.
Animal Farm: Boxer’s maxims “I will work harder” & “Napoleon (Obama?) is always right”
HOLY
For later zombification
